Marchant's Forward March: It's a Celebration
http://marchantsforwardmarch.blogspot.com/2013/09/its-celebration.html
Monday, September 23, 2013. It took 2 races in Ottawa, and returning to the Toronto Zoo 4x (2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013), but I finally did it! I finally got to break the tape as the Canadian 10k Champion. First thing on the Calendar after Worlds was the Canadian 10k Championships. One of our top notch Canadian physios in the Toronto area and had him work on it the Thursday before the race. Makin' my legs go fast. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). West Coast Runner: September 2014
http://westcoastrunner.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 13, 2014. This summer the train has been packed full of athletes that have been unable to do what they love, which of course is to run. There was Natasha Wodak. More recently Dylan Wykes. And myself. Yes there, I admitted it. This summer has truly sucked. I was injured. All aboard the freaking Injury Train. You might recall me talking about having a less than ideal race in Ottawa back at the end of May. A few weeks after the Montreal Half Marathon, I had some lower leg pain. After see...

shoeless coolis: May 2015

The bloggings of a distance runner. Sunday, May 24, 2015. Now that I’ve got your attention, no, I did not just complete an ironman. I have, however, become an iron woman. My first track workout in 3 years. Happy to be back at it despite burning legs.and skin. Perhaps not quite as enthusiastic about my finish? I was shocked. I have never been iron deficient. Even when running high mileage my iron was always around 50, so I figured I wasn’t prone to anemia. I am not a vegetarian, I love s...TIS THE SEASON ...

http://janecoolis.blogspot.com/2014/01/re-setting-bar-speedy.html
The bloggings of a distance runner. Sunday, January 12, 2014. Today I ran the New York City Hot Chocolate 10 mile Run in Central Park. For most, it was their first race of 2014. For me, it was my first race since 2011. Fittingly, my last race was also a 10-miler. Unfortunately the list of similarities ends there, as everything besides the total distance travelled stand in stark contrast to each other (and even that is arguable! Let’s backtrack. What happened between 2011 and 2014? Then moved to New York ...

The bloggings of a distance runner. Sunday, January 5, 2014. Things are looking, uptone? 8216;You are an uptone.’. 8216;What does that mean.’. 8216;You are happy, and very chill.’. 8216;…I would say…that’s pretty accurate.’. I’m sorry I just got distracted by an argument between a woman who took an 85-year-old grandmother’s seat and her daughter. Normal. Don’t ask. Please, just don’t ask. It was actually completely avoidable and totally unnecessary, and the only reason it happened was...In Vancouver, my ...

shoeless coolis: July 2012
http://janecoolis.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
The bloggings of a distance runner. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. It's all Voodoo and Dr. Chiu. My shin has become an old, annoying boyfriend. The initial thrilling (? Intensity has dissipated into a dull (dis)comfort that stays with me at all times. Although predictability can be nice, it’s not when it prevents you from living life fully. I need to dump this boyfriend for good. The problem is, he’s a bit of a stalker. 8221; my heart raced with excitement, “When? 8221; I asked “I can set this up anytime! Don&#...

The bloggings of a distance runner. Saturday, August 11, 2012. Coolis to the Core. But I WAS forced to incorporate resistance training into my routine, and as a result my strength, coordination and running speed improved dramatically. However. Uh-huh.). Where did this dead-pan, bored un-Coolis come from? What is more is that my brain was usurped along with my personality. I don’t think I could recall the appropriate name for a single exercise (or add to 10min? Leg dips. LEG DIPS? Are those a real thing?
