Oregon Regency Society ~ Cascades East Chapter: February 2010
http://orscascades.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 4, 2010. February 5th, 1811. On February 5 th. 1811 by Act of Parliament George Augustus Fredrick of the House of Hanover became temporary sovereign of Great Britain. But what is a “Regent” anyway and what kind of person was “ Prinnie. 8221; as he was known in popular satire, had serious vices equivalent to misbehaving modern pop icons today. George was by all accounts a flamboyant, oafish, cranky, squandering, fashion and food addicted whore-monger. John Nash the celebrated architect,...

Oregon Regency Society ~ Cascades East Chapter: Journeys
http://orscascades.blogspot.com/2011/09/journeys.html
Saturday, September 10, 2011. I think that it is important to research the area of history that you are wanting to explore. For me it is a matter of learning about the costumes completely, that is from the inside out. When I approach making of a costume I start from the inside making the garment, which in this case is a chemise. Then working from there I build the outfit, with the finishing touches being the accessories. Labels: starting a journey. October 31, 2011 at 7:14 AM. ORS - Puget Sound Chapter.

Oregon Regency Society ~ Cascades East Chapter: Of Saturdays at McLean Manor
http://orscascades.blogspot.com/2010/01/of-saturdays-at-mclean-manor.html
Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Of Saturdays at McLean Manor. Singularly, I must say the diverse entertainments were well met. The Lady of Portland House issued exquisite intonations. It was as if the cherubs of Aphrodite where all in chorus from her mouth by her seraphic notes that would make even a Cesar faint with reflection. The Master of Portland house was quite the sharp at whist and a wry fellow indeed, with an artist’s eye for taking likenesses. I must remark most notably upon the Footmen, Jonkins (a ...

Oregon Regency Society ~ Cascades East Chapter: January 2010
http://orscascades.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 24, 2010. As I contemplate what I am about to write I truly marvel that it has yet to happen. I am still quite amused by the McLean house gathering. Lady Simpson and I have many fond memories and catch each other musing about it on a regular basis. With that in mind I will propose the following dangerous idea. A Grand Ball. This would be a gathering to rival all others that would require all chapters to come together and pool their endeavors into one giant party, ANNUALLY. Singularly, I m...

The Oregon Regency Society ~ Northwest Chapter: Telling your Regency story with colour and fabric
http://oregonregency.blogspot.com/2014/08/telling-your-regency-story-with-colour.html
Saturday, August 2, 2014. Telling your Regency story with colour and fabric. I regret neglecting this blog page for the NW chapter. I do have a good excuse though, and that is we're so busy with ORS events and the main website. That we forget about this page sometimes. :) That *is* a good thing. I digress! I have a little missive about fabric and colours for your regency delectation today. It may help you in constructing your regency wardrobe! Slippy, shiny, froofy, mitchy-matchy and a tiny bit tacky.
