Day +178 | funhousediary
https://funhousediary.wordpress.com/2012/02/27/day-178
Thoughts, musings and rants from the fun house. Laquo; Sophie’s world part 2. All things bad and good. 22 more days to day 200! Another major milestone. Well, it’s not all be smooth sailing over the last few weeks. I had to go into the hospital 3 times in the last week. First on Monday for my regular clinic sessions, then again on Thursday (more about that later) and then again on Friday (ditto)! The downside to all the reduction in antivirals is that I need to take an infusion of Pentamidine. This entry...

District Drivers Logbook: January 2006
http://districtdriver.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
My day-to-day logbook of what I've encountered driving on London Underground's District Line. Sunday, January 29, 2006. When I rang my wife during my meal break, she informed me that if we'd put the lottery on, we'd have had 5 numbers and the bonus ball, which would have been about a quarter of a million quid. How bloody ironic that the week we don't put our usual numbers on because we're struggling for money, the damn things come up. In actual fact, out of almost 100 lines, they won about 7 total! My co...

District Drivers Logbook: September 2005

My day-to-day logbook of what I've encountered driving on London Underground's District Line. Sunday, September 25, 2005. Strange start to the day! Well, I think it's about time I got back to blogging! I'll start by telling you how my day started. Well in actual fact, my bus journey to the station. After about a minute, a big Jamaican guy approached me and in his Jamaican accent told me "Hey mon, your shoes are on fire! Sure enough, I looked down, and found the source of the cigarette smoke! I hastily re...

District Drivers Logbook: June 2005
http://districtdriver.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
My day-to-day logbook of what I've encountered driving on London Underground's District Line. Thursday, June 23, 2005. If you were a passenger on the District Line today, you have my sincere symathies. When I booked on at about 1530, there were 'minor delays' reported on the Wimbledon branch because of a signal failure at East Putney. About 10 minutes later, the Wimbledon branch had been suspended because of a fire alert. Not good heading towards the peak, and with Tim Henman playing at Wimbledon. One yo...

District Drivers Logbook: December 2005
http://districtdriver.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
My day-to-day logbook of what I've encountered driving on London Underground's District Line. Thursday, December 29, 2005. Happy New Year from the RMT. While I've been away, I've been following the ongoing discussions online between the RMT and LUL, and what a surprise: they've called a strike for New Year's Eve! Now I'm an ASLEF member, therefore will not be on strike (before anyone posts comments flaming me! OK so station staff can't realy help with all situations, but it's always nice to have more tha...

District Drivers Logbook: August 2005
http://districtdriver.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
My day-to-day logbook of what I've encountered driving on London Underground's District Line. Friday, August 26, 2005. Unfortunately, due to the amount of spam I'm getting in my comments section lately, I have had to implement a 'word verification' security code. What this means is that you'll have to type the shown word (or letters) into a box before posting comments. This is intended to fool the spambots. I hope you will not be put off from posting comments because of this! And it seemed to work becaus...

District Drivers Logbook: May 2005
http://districtdriver.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
My day-to-day logbook of what I've encountered driving on London Underground's District Line. Tuesday, May 31, 2005. You may recognise the title of this entry as the name of a Neil Diamond song! I use it very deliberately this evening after having a trainload of Neil Diamond fans on board this evening! They were certainly a different crowd from the Kylie fans I referred to a few weeks ago, but at least when the singalong started in the saloon behind me, I could actually join in because I knew the words!
