Life with Lilly and Lucy

Life with Lilly and Lucy. Wednesday, March 16, 2016. A walk in the woods. Last Saturday the girls wanted to go for a walk in the woods to see if they could find a place to have a picnic. We ended up following the stream to make sure that we could easily find our way home. Lilly let the way and at several points she found places for us to easily cross the stream. At one part of the stream there was a lot of algae growing. The girls enjoyed looking at it and reaching in to touch it. Links to this post.

Life with Lilly and Lucy: Model Magic

http://lifewithlillyandlucy.blogspot.com/2014/06/model-magic.html

Life with Lilly and Lucy. Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Jennifer sent something called Model Magic with Jonas one day. It is sort of like play dough except it has a different texture. They attempted to make the things pictured on the package but eventually gave up and made creations of their own. The package claims it won't stick to fabric, but that is a lie. As you can tell, Lilly's stuck to the blanket and Jonas stepped on some and it was a pain to get off his shoes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Life with Lilly and Lucy: Playing with Sparklers

http://lifewithlillyandlucy.blogspot.com/2014/08/playing-with-sparklers.html

Life with Lilly and Lucy. Saturday, August 2, 2014. Lucy loves sparklers. Lilly is less of a fan after she read that more children are injured by sparklers each fourth of July than any other type of fireworks. Rosie was also concerned about the wisdom of handing children burning sticks. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. The Magic Onions : A Waldorf Inspired Blog. Life with Lilly and Lucy. Wednesday, January 15, 2014. I have finally gotten around to putting the Christmas pictures on the computer. Better late than never! Opening their boots. Lilly got pink sparkly boots and Lucy got blue sparkly boots. Checking out the stockings. One of the things they got was a fairy costume and wand. Coloring on Christmas morning with some of the craft kits that their Grandparents had given them on Christmas Eve. Links to this post. Sunday, January 12, 2014. Links to this post.

Life with Lilly and Lucy: June 2013

http://lifewithlillyandlucy.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Life with Lilly and Lucy. Saturday, June 15, 2013. A morning of fun. Throwing acorns and sticks into the water. It is hard to believe that the water used to be so high over this pipe that you could paddle a boat over it. The water was so still the morning we took this walk. Fishing" in the lake. More "fishing". All that was caught was a bunch of weeds. . Links to this post. Friday, June 14, 2013. Lilly liked to look at the sparklers but not actually touch them. Lucy loved them, though. Laundry on the Lines: April 2015

http://laundryonthelines.blogspot.com/2015/05/april-2015.html

Laundry on the Lines. Sunday, May 3, 2015. Rachel's birthday is April 2. She asked for a raw vegan birthday cake and I managed to accommodate her request. It's made of pureed fruit frozen in layers, and it tasted much better than it looks. She was pleased with it, and that's what is important. We celebrated Easter with church services, lunch with the family, and the traditional egg hunt. This year there was a prize egg for each child. They were happy hunters. Last fall we moved some of Mama's peonies to ...

Laundry on the Lines: September 2014

http://laundryonthelines.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Laundry on the Lines. Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Late Post for August. August was a busy month in a lot of ways. It began with the ceiling fan in Hannah's room overheating one night, so the next day Phillip replaced it. We estimate that the old one had been there since the house was rebuilt after the fire in 1987, so we can't complain too much about it. The new ceiling fan. Emily and Jon came for a visit, but I didn't even take one picture. I'm sad about that, but we enjoyed the time with them. We al...

Laundry on the Lines: March 2015

http://laundryonthelines.blogspot.com/2015/04/march-2015.html

Laundry on the Lines. Monday, April 13, 2015. March was Lilly's month to spend the weekend. She helped Phillip plant the spring garden. She planted sugar snap peas. She baked brownies for Sunday dessert, but she and Phillip sampled them first to be sure they were good. She said they were almost as good as her cousin Jack's brownies. The daffodils were blooming all over the yard. Lilly picked bunches and arranged these in a few of Hannah's bottles. They filled our house with spring. 5 quarts salsa (Canned).

Laundry on the Lines: December 2014

http://laundryonthelines.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Laundry on the Lines. Monday, December 15, 2014. Our annual family camping trip took place in October and November. The November part wasn't as stormy as the October part. It was colder but we all managed to stay warm and have a good time. Jennifer and Jason cooked a delicious supper one night in their Dutch oven. Lilly and Lucy always like to keep their hair braided when we go camping. It's easy to care for and they look really pretty. Lilly found some hickory nuts and Phillip cracked them for her.

Laundry on the Lines: August 2014

http://laundryonthelines.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Laundry on the Lines. Friday, August 1, 2014. We celebrated the Fourth with family, fun, and food. In the evening, we took our packages of (legal) fireworks to the assisted living facility where Hannah works and shot them off for some of the residents. Compared to the regular fireworks, it was a pitiful little show but we had so much fun. The residents really got a kick out of it. Since it was a hot day, we had our picnic inside. Jonas is okay. He just didn't want his picture taken. And stirred it all up.

Much Ado About Cooking: June 2011

http://adoaboutcooking.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Much Ado About Cooking. Thursday, June 23, 2011. I needed to do a little therapeutic cooking. I dug through the fridge and drug out some ingredients that were getting ready to go bad and decided to see what I could do with them. I chopped up a cup and a half of mushrooms and added one chopped shallot. Then I sauteed them in a pan for about 3 minutes with a tablespoon of olive oil. Just enough to make them a little tender. Then I got out 5 eggs. Don't they look cool? Links to this post. Steak Diane and Re...

Much Ado About Cooking. Saturday, July 30, 2011. Lemony Orzo Veggie Salad. This is a recipe I modified from one I found at cookinglight.com. It was so delicious that I went ahead and made a second batch with even better results. This is great for summer. 3/4 cup uncooked orzo. 1/4 teaspoon Spice Island’s lemon peel. 3 tablespoons lemon juice. 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil. 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt. 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic. 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper. 2 cups shredded chicken. Laundry on the Lines. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. May was Jonas's month to spend the night. He was busy the whole weekend. (I think he looks like Jack Frankenberger in this picture.). Lilly's art was chosen to be displayed at a local museum. Picture-taking was not permitted, but our guide gave us special permission. I think he was probably a grandparent, too. Usually we only camp in the fall, but we decided to try a spring camping trip. It worked out well. Can you see Libby in the background? Okra - 5 gall...

Life With Lillian

Cat Lady Confesh: How to balance life, have fun, and raise a happy cat. Monday, May 6, 2013. Lately Lillian has been eating plants around the house. While it may seem like it would be okay to let a cat eat on plants. it actually is not very good for them at all. For some reason Lilly Belle finds enjoyment in eating these plants and then throwing them up. This is not fun for either of us. Yet, she continues to eat them. I chose to try our the cayenne pepper idea which is where you just sprinkle some of th...

Sunday, July 12, 2015. Summer - my favorite time of year. I love the long days, the sunshine, the open windows, and the long, lazy walks Lili and I take every day. But, I have to admit that I was actually dreading this summer. Because along with all the good stuff, summer also means it’s time for Lili’s seasonal allergies to kick in. The past three summers have been miserable for her. We gave immunotherapy a try, and that didn’t help either. We managed to get some and, yeah, it didn’t work. Being in a ca...

Life with Lilia Rose. 11 things about me. Monday, 22 August 2011. Walking along the meandering, glistening creek with you snug against my chest, close to my heart, beating gently the afternoon away –. Together, you and I walking. As the water sounds, the graceful fall of the tiniest droplet in the distance. And the sun, oh how she gleams radiance making the wattle sparkle golden amber from her touch – perhaps, like happiness captured and bottled. Saturday, 20 August 2011. Sydney, next week baby. Friday, 1 June 2012. Sometimes an outfit is so cute you have to have a photo shoot! Wednesday, 4 April 2012. First laughs, our photogenic family, and new hope on the nap front. Lillian has started to laugh in the last couple weeks! This is the 'after' picture, by the way. The curtains were advertised as "eliminating 99% of light".
