Living with Mastocytosis: just a little update

http://lifewithmastocytosis.blogspot.com/2013/01/just-little-update.html

Life with a chronic illness isn't all about spoons and complaining. Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Just a little update. I always worry when I follow health based blogs that go silent, that the writer has died or their disease has progressed or some awful thing like that. because when you're dealing with a serious disease, those are the places your mind goes. So not that I think people are sitting around all worried about me, but I just wanted to write this in case anyone was. Just my two cents from a fan :).

Living with Mastocytosis: October 2009

http://lifewithmastocytosis.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Life with a chronic illness isn't all about spoons and complaining. Tuesday, October 27, 2009. I have not had a lot to say lately. my health went waaaaay down south after the conference, though i think that was more related to my trying to taper off one of my meds than anything. apparently not a good idea. nothing feels worse than having a hardcore relapse, especially when you've been feeling moderately ok. Otherwise i am not too sure what to write about. i did a urine histamine for dr castells last ...

Living with Mastocytosis: I prefer it when things are uneventful

http://lifewithmastocytosis.blogspot.com/2012/05/i-prefer-it-when-things-are-uneventful.html

Life with a chronic illness isn't all about spoons and complaining. Friday, May 11, 2012. I prefer it when things are uneventful. So I had surgery on Wed for the ever ongoing saga of my nose. This time around it was to straighten my septum, reduce my turbinates, and flush out any remaining crud. I went in to the operating theater, was given my mask full of whatever and out i went. So yeah now i'm in the healing process. my head is killing me, my nose is painful to the touch, but overall i feel optimi...

Living with Mastocytosis: March 2010

http://lifewithmastocytosis.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Life with a chronic illness isn't all about spoons and complaining. Thursday, March 11, 2010. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I've been living with a rare neoplastic disease called Systemic Mastocytosis for a few years now. I want to use this space to detail my experiences with this illness, as well as to hopefully show other people suffering chronic illness that life does not have to be all about the "spoon theory" and limitations. mastocytosisintexas: June 2009

http://mastocytosisintexas.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 27, 2009. This disease is so unpredictable. One minute I can be fine, and the next I'm in the middle of a full blown anaphylactic attack. I know some of my triggers, but many still remain a mystery to me. Sometimes I react to them, sometimes I don't. Here are the triggers that I am aware of:. Heat- I live in South Texas where the temperature is around 105 all summer long. Humidity- a killer for me. Melon- cantaloupe and honey dew. Loud Bass sound- I know, it's weird. Friday, June 26, 2009.

mastocytosisintexas: First Post

http://mastocytosisintexas.blogspot.com/2009/06/first-post.html

Wednesday, June 24, 2009. My Family Practitioner stuck with me, and even though he treated me for anxiety disorder, he knew there was more there. It wasn't until February of 2008, when I went to see an allergist, that I had ever even heard of Mastocytosis. Through her persistence and after driving across the country to have a bone marrow biopsy and consultation with a Mastocytosis specialist, I finally had a diagnosis and a treatment plan. mastocytosisintexas: My Symptoms

http://mastocytosisintexas.blogspot.com/2009/06/my-symptoms.html

Friday, June 26, 2009. I wanted to share my symptoms, since everyone experiences this disease in different ways. First of all, I have Systemic Mastocytosis with the c-kit mutation D816V. I both shock and leak. About 10 years ago, my husband and I were traveling from Texas to Michigan. It was a warm summer day, and we were pushing ourselves to go as far as possible so that we would make the trip in 2 days, and not have to stay in a motel. In the ambulance, the other paramedic, who happened to be his wife,...
