our korean american family: February 2015
http://koreanamericanfamily.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Our korean american family. Saturday, February 14, 2015. What I have forgotten about myself. Life as a Christian, adoptive, homeschooling mom and wife demands a lot of me, each and every day. In many ways, I'm okay with that - I'm so very grateful for this life I am living. But sometimes, I forget about who I am, at my core. I'm relearning who I am, in many ways. I need time with friends. During my first year of being home full time with my kids, first I hunkered down to figure out this whole SAHM th...

our korean american family: A day at camp
http://koreanamericanfamily.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-day-at-camp.html
Our korean american family. Friday, July 10, 2015. A day at camp. On Wednesday, we headed about 2 hours north to attend a day camp for adoptees. Holt International organizes and runs this camp and I was excited to check it out. My kids were a mixed bag - two didn't want to go and one jumped out of bed super excited. Daniel and Natalie (front right in red and white shirts) playing. Elbow tag with the other day campers and counselors. Andrew and a counselor drawing. Will we go again next year? We're not su...

Our korean american family. Thursday, June 25, 2015. Homeschooling - the "what we did" post. Well, we did it - we completed our first year homeschooling all three kids. The last day of school deserves ice cream for all! All to say, I know more now than I did a year ago :). Last summer was literature unit study style a la Five in a Row. And decided to make some changes. In came Story of the World Volume I. We also tried Apologia Science - Flying Creatures. I really like so much about this curriculum, but ...

our korean american family: January 2015
http://koreanamericanfamily.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Our korean american family. Tuesday, January 27, 2015. We are all about teeth around here right now. Last Thursday, Andrew had 2 baby teeth pulled. He has had 4 lower baby teeth fall out and two adult teeth have filled in the space where the 4 baby teeth were. The third adult tooth is coming in behind another adult tooth. I have no idea where the 4th one is (but it is in there somewhere). All to say, the poor kid has no room in his mouth. I'm only half kidding. Tuesday, January 20, 2015. But after the fi...

our korean american family: April 2014
http://koreanamericanfamily.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Our korean american family. Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Andrew continues to love, love, love books by Roald Dahl. We started with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Followed by the BFG. And have now read or listened to Charlie and the Glass Elevator. James and the Giant Peach. Fantastic Mr. Fox. And tonight he and I read The Enormous Crocodile. Which, incidentally, is a (long) picture book - I had no idea Roald Dahl wrote picture books! The booklet from CD case of Frozen. Wednesday, April 16, 2014. I love t...

Our korean american family. Friday, May 30, 2014. Yeosu Day 8 - part 1 {visiting a Korean elementary school}. On Thursday (May 22) we went to the elementary school where Elicia teaches English. In one word, the day was incredible. I decided to include as much detail as I could remember in this post because there was just so much to process and so much I didn't want to forget. Our cab arrived at the school at 10:30 am and Elicia was smiling and waving at us, waiting at the front entrance. Then the teacher...

our korean american family: September 2014
http://koreanamericanfamily.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Our korean american family. Wednesday, September 24, 2014. We headed east at the end of the summer, taking the opportunity to see family and friends and spend time enjoying the great outdoors. Our ultimate destination was Maine, but first, family. Paul's sister, Linda, and family plus us, all on bikes. 4 adults, 6 kids. Nope - no one noticed us. Spending a day with my 89 year old grandmother, by the Erie Canal. What a treat it was to have that time together! My fishermen (and lady). Can we say perfect?
