After a long week at the office, wildfires, and everything else going on up here, I had some real excitement on the drive home tonight. I was going past the Trans-Alaska Pipeline view point, and I noticed an odd looking vehicle parked there. It was kind of like a dune buggy. But I never in my wildest dreams. Thought I would meet folks like I did. Before they head to Tierra del Fuego.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008. A mild panic sets in for a lot of us. No one finishes all the outdoor chores planned earlier in the year. Cutting and stacking firewood and filling the freezer with moose and caribou take on higher priorities. The locals call the first snows termination dust, and for good reason.
