THE WESTHOFFS: Summer 2011
http://slwesthoff.blogspot.com/2012/03/summer-2011.html
Thursday, March 22, 2012. My wonderful sister, Amy, was sweet to watch Sara while we took the four older kids to California. We spent several days at Disneyland and California Adventure and had a blast! Yes, I'm one of those people that takes pictures of the picture. We actually did end up buying this one in a frame, though! Poor Ella was petrified. My family also got together for a mini-reunion. We got some good family pictures as well. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort (thanks Susan!

Monday, October 31, 2011. Medieval Stone Bridge spanning the Danube River with the Gothic Dom (cathedral) in the background. Baden means 'baths' and is a spa town known for it's natural springs that the Romans discovered and built baths around 2000 years ago. Strasbourg is the capital of Europe where the European Parliament is located. It sits along the Rhine river and, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Medieval bridge next to Le Petite France on the Ill River.

Monday, April 4, 2011. Girls Trip - Athens. Right in the middle of the street on Ermou is one of the oldest Greek Orthodox churches in Athens, the Kapnikarea. The Acropolis from the rooftop of our hotel. Hadrian's Arch. I love how you can see the Acropolis through the archway. I don't think that was by accident :). Sister missionaries we met outside the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian's Arch. They were both from Germany! The Parthenon on top of the Acropolis. In front of the Parthenon. The New Acropolis Museum.

THE WESTHOFFS: Living in Japan
http://slwesthoff.blogspot.com/2012/07/living-in-japan.html
Monday, July 2, 2012. Just a few photos that depict a little of our lives in Japan. Our cars, my Odyssey and Matt's Skyline (middle car in background). Steering wheel on the right, how fun is that? Typical narrow city street. More typical stuff - sign in Kanji, tiny box car, and girl on a bike. I was visiting a friend that lives off post and saw this guy hanging out in front of someone's house on her street. So random yet still very cool. Don't love the seaweed. Costco sushi. YES! We have a Costco!

THE WESTHOFFS: October 2010
http://slwesthoff.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 27, 2010. We stayed at the Hilton. Get it? Paris Hilton. Heehee. Anyway, it was in the business district known as La Defense, right on this big shopping square called Defense Palace. The office building behind us is the modern version of the Arc de Triomphe called the Grande Arche de la Defense. It's quite impressive, but I prefer the older version myself. Waiting in line at the Louvre. The Louvre again, after the tour. Jake and the Eiffel Tower. One of the fountains of the palace gard...

http://slwesthoff.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 5, 2012. Just a few odds and ends from our time in Germany. Where the heck is Ausfahrt, Germany? Our little pink house. Matt coming home from work. Miss that car. View of part of the city wall surrounding Rothenburg. We lived only 15 minutes away from this amazing city and were able to go there often. Sara playing at G Park on Storck Barracks. My beautiful dirndl I got in Garmisch. Kids in front of the Ulmer Muenster. It was so tall we couldn't get all of it in the picture. Sara and I i...

THE WESTHOFFS: January 2011

Friday, January 14, 2011. The week before Christmas, Matt, Bryan, Aaron and I took the ICE train to Berlin for a couple of days. Since Matt had been there already, he let me take a bus tour while he kept the boys occupied. It was very informative and a nice (warm) way to see the city. We later walked around to the different sites with the boys. Inside the Sony Center. We saw 'Tangled' at the Cinestar, one of the nicest cinemas we've ever been to. Bebelplatz in front of Humboldt University is the site of ...

THE WESTHOFFS: December 2010
http://slwesthoff.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 28, 2010. This is the view from my bedroom window. It makes my heart ache when I think about leaving Germany. Posted by Stephanie Westhoff. Sunday, December 26, 2010. Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France and England. We had a wonderful time, with the exception of a couple of sick kiddies. On the "chunnel" train. What a cool experience! It was fun knowing we were traveling under the English Channel and nice to take a break from driving, yet still be moving forward. While we, by whic...
