I'm sitting here after just finishing baking pumpkin muffins, drinking an Octoberfest beer, and enjoying the scent of our new "Apple Cider" candle. I'd say someone is pretty ready and excited for fall, huh? I seriously love everything this season is about: cool crisp weather, the changing colors of the leaves and the way they crunch when you step on them, scents like pumpkin, apple, and spices, Halloween followed by Thanksgiving (and my birthday! How are you celebrating the fall season? My fall go-to out...

DIY Lampshade Cover -

I'm so excited to post my first DIY project! It started last weekend when I persuaded Frank that we needed to build a headboard. After finding a tutorial online for one that we both liked, we headed to Lowes to buy the supplies. Six hours later we (he) finished and it looks soo good! I tried to help, I really did, but it involved a lot of tools and I shouldn't be allowed to operate something that could cut a finger off. I did lay down the glue and read instructions though! Some pillows I made! 3 Iron out...

Holiday Baking -
http://mikhailasimeon.weebly.com/1/post/2011/12/holiday-baking.html
This year I wanted to keep my baking simple. I attempted to make way too many cookies last year and I wasn't really pleased with the result.or the amount of work. I felt rushed and didn't enjoy the process. This year I picked 4 recipes that I knew most people would enjoy, put on my holiday apron, turned up the Christmas music and got to baking. 2 Peanut Butter Kiss. Everything looks so yum! They're a classic and always everyone's favorite cookies! Thank you for visiting my blog! Nice one info, thx.

Recipe: Warm Lentil Salad. I had my friend Rebecca over for dinner tonight. She's into eating healthy and cooking like me so it's always fun to eat together. :) I had to make Frank a separate meal (chilaquiles! Because there was no way I was getting him to eat this. Although I have to say, he totally missed out. It was sooo yummy! She brought over some wine, bread, and apple crisp for dessert. So good! And I had some Blue Moon Spiced Amber Ale.mmmm! 4 tbs of olive oil, divided. 2 tbs of red wine vinegar.

Beef Stew with Butternut Squash and Cranberries. This is one of those recipes that doesn't really photograph pretty but I want to share it anyway. There's nothing better on a rainy night than a hearty stew! It was simple to make and the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Total cook time: 1 hour and 45 minutes. 2 1/2 teaspoons olive oil, divided. 8 ounces bottom-round beef, trimmed, cut into 3/4-inch cubes. 1/2 small yellow onion, diced. 1 teaspoon dried thyme. 1/2 teaspoon dried sage. Mix butter, p...

Happy Weekend! -
http://mikhailasimeon.weebly.com/1/post/2012/01/happy-weekend.html
But seriously, weekends should always be 3 days long. I would love to know who decided that a typical work week would be 5 days.it's nonsense! Last weekend I almost cried knowing I had to go back to work the next day. I wish these pictures turned out a little better but Frank is still learning about lighting/focusing and I'm just so grateful that he's decided to embrace helping me take pictures for my blog! This jacket belongs to my dear dear friend, Ashley of Lions Lace Lattes. I really love your boots!

Say Yah to da U.P. eh! I was convinced Frank would propose to me there, but then again I'm convinced he is going to propose to me on every vacation, holiday, birthday, and outing. (I'm only half kidding.). I love your new layout! This trip sounds so amazing, and your little niece is such a doll. I love that she thinks every lake she see's now is fire lake. haha. She must have had a great time. :). This place looks and sounds so amazing, you're lucky! Will be restored soon. Create a free website.

Lavender & Lace Vintage: July 2011
http://lesleylavender.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Lavender and Lace Vintage. Tuesday, July 26, 2011. A little trip home. My travel outfit is a mix of borrowed (thanks, Gracie! And the sale rack at Urban Outfitters. Perhaps not the smartest choice for swabbing the deck. My mom insisted that I take a photo in the lobster head, despite the roll of my eyes. She reminisced about my first trip to the wharf. Apparently, my infant self was toted around all day in a baby backpack. Those were the days. Of course I'm partial to those photos. Thursday, July 14, 2011.
