Through the process of cross-multiplication, I arrived at the appropriate width dimension for the casing of my future T.V! I continued this process with the remaining sections of the entertainment center. My carpenter built it as I specified, and it looks great! A happy ending, thanks to proportions. 15 new x new pic width. 1 old 12″ old pic width. I really did it Ellen!

Just another WordPress.com site. 8-B-2 Reflections on Blogging. July 20, 2011. I have realized that I lacked a connection between graphs and equations. I lacked many “concepts” that will be useful to me as an instructor. I will use a better mix of mechanics and concept in the future. Learning to use a graphing calculator will be beneficial as I enter into the tutoring business. Points of Interest from Class. Use of Journals and Blogs for Instruction. Prior question includes my feelings on use of blogs.

Just another WordPress.com site. Evaluating our Definitions: Equations and Functions. July 2, 2011. I don’t feel I should alter my definition, even though many were more “mathematical” than mine. I feel a more informal definition is easier to absorb. I also believe real-life story problems are important. I do feel I should add a graphical component to my definition of linear patterns. A student needs to see all facets of the math related to a function. 5-B-1: The Magic of Proportions.

Action-based and visual learners would find it especially beneficial. I would work it into lesson plans throughout the learning period of equations. It would aid in developing the “concept” of equations along with the “mechanics.”. My Definition of Equations and Functions. Evaluating our Definitions: Equations and Functions.
