New Year’s Resolutions – Sports, Writing, and More
https://lisagriffinmiller.wordpress.com/2015/01/04/new-years-resolutions
Sports, Writing, and More. My thoughts on and ideas about just about anything that suits my fancy. New Year’s Resolutions. Make time for creative projects…and finish them. Last year, I didn’t start any projects, although I certainly added to the list of projects I want to do. I enjoy doing these crafty things. It has the added benefit of getting me away from the computer, something which unavoidably occupies much of my day. Write a little every day. Read the Bible every day. January 4, 2015.

Lost Writing – Sports, Writing, and More
https://lisagriffinmiller.wordpress.com/2015/03/29/lost-writing
Sports, Writing, and More. My thoughts on and ideas about just about anything that suits my fancy. Over 6 months ago, I started a new story. I developed an idea for a Regency romance and jotted down several key plot points. Instead of plotting the whole story before writing it, I employed the “pants-er” method. I whipped out the first chapter and added to my list of plot notes. At the time, I (of course) thought it was the best first chapter ever. Waist-high to most adults, Zach slipped quickly though th...

Sports, Writing, and More. My thoughts on and ideas about just about anything that suits my fancy. Confessions of a Recovering WriMo. It’s now December, and this is the first time I’ve picked up my “pen” since November ended. The craziness that National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) brings to November is behind us. Now what? Well, for me, that’s not such an easy question to answer. Do I continue with the story I just started, when 50k doesn’t even take me halfway through my plot? It might be surprising...

I’ve come across the ones below several time in the recent books and cocnversations. This is unnecessarily redundant. Unless your character is adept at telecanesis, there is no other option for a character’s thoughts. 8220;Talking out loud”. But that’s not what they wrote. What writing pet peeves do you have? This is a very enjoyable read! But yah, the new King is probably screwed. This book reads like a cross between a James Bond novel and a 70’s adventure-romance a lá Elizabeth Peters. My only problem came between the 2. Chapter, when a woman suddenly appears in Teuvo’s bed. Now that is not unusual for infl...

One day I said something slightly funny or memorable or something, probably on a topic that she had already posted several hundred funny, memorable responses to, and we became friends. When I heard she had a book out In Liam’s Wake. And do you know the HUGE relief of being able to respond back that you really do? I have now...

Adventures in Attempted Authoring. Covers from a newb perspective Part 2. November 22, 2014. November 27, 2014. Of this series, I talked about the transition the publishing industry (traditional and self-) has adopted, going from painted to Photoshopped covers. I think we can all agree, they don’t make them like they used to. Painted covers still exist, of course, and when looking at a list of the 50 most iconic covers. Not surprising, given the close ties. Between book cover art and poster art. First, a...
