May, June, July: A Retrospective. Wow I have been really bad at this whole blog thing. Here's what we've been up to lately. During the months of June and July we undertook some projects in our house. We painted our kitchen cabinets (thanks to the help from our parents) kitchen walls, and refrigerator (sounds ghetto but it looks fabulous! See for yourself- the before pictures are first. We also celebrated Fourth of July by eating burgers and staying in the air conditioning! 5 Responses so far. It was a ni...

The sign didn't work. And now for today's delightful find. You can see in the picture below the feces that was left and the sign I created to combat future occurrences. Everyone talks about the joys of home ownership. I'm pretty sure this isn't one of them. PS Bart said if this doesn't work we can fight fire with fire (or poop with poop) and just throw Turkey Leg's diapers in her yard. Pretty sure he will create way more ammunition than that weirdo dog. A splash distance of 8 feet- I measured it. And we ...

Prepare to die from exposure to extreme cuteness (oh, Bart and I are in the photos too). We got family photos taken about a week ago to mark Miles turning one. I know this is kind of a post about me, but this is the cutest picture of Miles smiling with his mommy and it makes me so happy that I'm going to post it! Particularly since it is a picture of me post-delivery that actually looks pretty decent.) Don't forget to scroll down to see the post below about Miles's first walk. Miles on his first walk. Miles in action (actually). We don't condone violence in our house. It may not be motion of his own volition, but he is in motion. I said NOT child abuse. Note: Y...

A splash distance of 8 feet- I measured it. For those of you wondering what we've been up to during the heat wave that's hit Atlanta, see below. Miles can climb our desk. And knock things over. Consider this lesson learned. I had run into the next room to get a napkin. Go figure. And one of the little climber himself. The curse of Tuesday. 2 Responses so far. June 27, 2012 at 4:41 PM. Oh dear. Its a good thing hes cute! July 3, 2012 at 10:54 AM. Oh, man. That little stinker! Brittany, scott, melanie, luke.

Oh air conditioning, how I love you! You are by far the greatest invention. EVER. You make me nicer to people because I'm not hot. You make me smell better because I'm not sweaty. Because of these two very important reasons, we decided to turn you on last night, March 14th. Before the first day of spring. Before I wanted to kill someone. It was a good decision. Over 80 degrees in Georgia for the next 7 days. Sour cream, and sloppy joes. Ha! He's also enjoyed salsa (medium hotness) Brussels sprouts, mashe...

Here's a few things I saw today in my building:. Every day is halloween in biomedical science. PS Those are not Christmas lights- they are Halloween lights cause our house is so spooky! You guessed it- Miles officially rolled over on October 4th. I don't think he liked it too much once he realized that all that work just landed him on his tummy, which still isn't his favorite place to be. But we are pretty dang proud of him. He has officially become a side sleeper, just like his mama. How to watch tv:.

This morning when I woke up, I naively thought that perhaps the climbing the stairs last night was a one time thing. ha! When I tried to take the first video, Miles got so distracted by the camera that he forgot about the stairs, so I had to put the bowl up there as incentive. Why I have my hands full these days. Some of Miles's tricks. Here is the other video I was trying to load earlier. It shows off some of his new skills like climbing up to standing, exploring the stairs, and "talking.". What else wo...
