In late 2003, we purchased a 59 acre farm in Araparera, an hour north of Auckland city on the Kaipara Coast Highway (State Highway 16). What we liked about the site was that it overlooked the Kaipara Harbour and about a quarter of the property had established native forest and wetlands. Plus the contours and several streams gave the property an interesting character. We decided to call the place CUE Haven. Iii) a course of action.

We would take bottles of water for drinking and cleaning up, but with no toilet facilities we had to resort to the woods — an interesting challenge considering most of the property was open pasture! At least the Trees for Survival co-ordinator graciously provided us with a porta-loo on the TFS planting days. Description of the Property.

Kahikateas grow well in swampy areas so they are suitable for planting in the wetland areas throughout the year. There is no specific plot set aside for the memorial trees.
