Perhaps because I have never received flowers on Valentine’s Day. At least I don’t remember having received any in the past decade. Perhaps in year 8 I received a rose from a secret admirer and a card scrawled in awkward writing saying ‘I like you a lot, you’re hot’, but nothing recent and genuinely heartfelt.
