I saw this advertised in my Good Housekeeping magazine- mums planted inside a pumpkin so I got ambitious and did it! Doesn't it look nice? I've got red, orange and yellow mums planed in pumpkins on our front porch. While I hollowed out the pumpkins for my mums, Todd was busy inside sewing Lauren's halloween costume- can't tell you what it is but you can bet you'll see it posted on a future blog! Monday, May 25, 2009. With the exception of Memorial Day itself, the weather the remainder of the weekend was great. Spent a lot of time outdoors planting, weeding, playing. Sunday, we decided to pack up our bikes and head to the Arboretum for a bike ride thru the woods. What a great day for a bike ride! She wasn't hurt, just a little scratch.). Gavin had so much fun coloring eggs and Lauren couldn't wait to wake up and find them. Sunday, December 14, 2008. This weekend, we attended the Third Annual Christmas party for our local adoption group. I've said it before, and I'll say it again- this is the best group of families around! It was so amazing to see how all of the kids have changed throughout the year, and it was so wonderful to welcome some of the newest members (both big and small) to the group. Good food and fun crafts were abundant and of course, Santa made a guest appearance! Monkey see, monkey do! We are so blessed!

There's just no letting up. But I have to say that, for the most part, we're busy with fun and interesting stuff. The best things in life aren't things". Friday, May 22, 2009. Our trip to the ranch. To end the year, Lauren's gs troop had a last hoo-ra at White Pines Dude Ranch. I being an unofficial co-leader came along to spend some quality time with my daugher and assure this will be a trip embedded forever in our hearts and memories. We had such a beautiful weekend together. We took time to explore the canyons. We played on good old fashioned tire swings. The first friend Lauren made was this beauty.

Sunday, May 31, 2009. What a great day! We spent the better part of the afternoon at a picnic w friends. Such great friends! The kids all had a great time walking thru the woods, playing on the swings etc and just being kids. The adults all had a great time just talking w adults. Emily is finally getting better at "posing" for me - now I just have to get better at taking the pictures! This was our cue that it was time to leave. But then we got home, and her energy level rose again. Our 1st day with Emily.

After playing outside together all day Lauren and her 2 friends were disappointed that the sun started going down and that meant, everybody in. Hunter was excited toward the end of the day because to him that meant, his 2 favorite people, his cousins, were coming to sleep over.
