March 9, 2014 · 12:12 pm. Busy doing lots of knitting, carding and spinning this week, and here are the results! Here’s some new sets of batts that have just been put up in my Etsy shop. They’re a blend of black Finnish wool (it’s a lot like bfl) and merino. I’ve also got some secret batts on the go for a knitting project that should be done in a week or two. There’s lots on the needles too. I’ve got a lacy version of my Mosely Cardigan. And finally finished spinning my birthday fibre! This week I’...

D managed to get time off too so we went up north for a bit of fresh air and exercise! Here’s some pics:. We stayed in a “microlodge” at the Blackwater Hostel. In Kinlochleven. They’re a bit like a cross between a shed and a barrel, but with two beds, a telly, kettle, microwave etc. All you really need and very reasonably priced. Feeling pretty sore today! On Saturday...

Monthly Archives: August 2013. August 25, 2013 · 6:13 pm. Remember the alpaca I was spinning a few weeks ago? It has metamorphosed into a chunky lace cowl for which I have just released the pattern. Whoop! Etive cowl is a soft, cosy, lofty cowl that’s really quick to knit. The lace pattern is suitable for beginner knitters and is perfect for handspun yarn. It’s available to purchase on Ravelry here. So far I’ve carded the batt:. Tore it into strips:. And spun about 10 grams. Why only 10 grams? Knit 1 Pea...
WIPW: blue and green | Stinging Needle
https://stingingneedle.wordpress.com/2012/08/01/wipw-blue-and-green
WIPW: blue and green. Asymp; Leave a comment. Is coming along well – we have a heel! The sock and shawl I’ve been working on are too complex for social knitting, so this project should be nice to have around for my Thursday night knitting group. Also – those are straight needles! I use almost entirely circulars these days; the weight of the wool hanging on the straights takes some adjusting to right now. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. October 7, 2015. Here’s one that I think every little man AND every little lady should have🙂. Shawl collars are always nice and cozy under a coat — especially for children who, like mine, adamantly reject scarves Designed to be relatively close-fitting, this sweater won’t add bulk under a jacket. Asymp; 2 Comments. Hello, and apologies for the absence. Let me show you my current work-in-progress:. I picked up some Sweet Georgia Yarn whilst visiting Santa Cruz, California. In my experience, California is blessed with so many good yarn shops; The Swift Stitch. Make the experience sweeter with a trip to the neighboring French bakery.). The rich, emerald green of the wool caught my eye immediately. I should have had colors of the sea on my mind, though. I always find the ocean inspiring. You are comm...

Wool-tastic on a Saturday. Asymp; 1 Comment. On Saturday, I went to check out Wool-tastic. At the National Museum of Scotland. The event was part of the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival. The entrance court to the museum was transformed into a knitting oasis, covered in new and experienced knitters. Some were learning to finger knit, others were creating pompoms, and I decided to take a crack at the pattern for a little bunny. My bunny is to the left, and my friend Amy. Larr; Previous post. Publicerad 2013-09-16 20:39:41 i Theo. Publicerad 2013-09-15 15:51:13 i Theo.
