Patti Brady...Living and Writing in Woodstock, GA

Monday, October 17, 2016. They Give Me a Reason. Rose Creek Library readers and me. When able, I've been plugging at the keyboard, finishing the next part of the Woodstock series. I like the results and think readers will, too. There is still work to be done, but I'll give you a hint of what is to come in The Man Who Could See His Future. Established in 789, Fez, Morocco entices visitors to enter. One of the gates, along the 13th century walls, lead to the mysteries of the medina. Only the story knows.

Patti Brady...Living and Writing in Woodstock, GA: December 2015

Monday, December 14, 2015. 140 Christmases . . . and Counting! Photo by permission of Georgia Archives- Vanishing Georgia Collection. Christmas began with the greatest miracle of all, Immanuel, "God with us," and everything those words signify. Since that long ago time, unexpected and unmerited wonders happen regularly. Some miracles are certainly more important than others, but don't discount the less obvious but awe-inspiring elements scattered throughout the background of your world. T J Van Sant.

Patti Brady...Living and Writing in Woodstock, GA: Enon Cemetery in Spring

http://www.livingandwritinginwoodstockgeorgia.com/2015/05/enon-cemetery-in-spring.html

Sunday, May 3, 2015. Enon Cemetery in Spring. You may hear whispers on the wind if you visit Woodstock's 1838 cemetery. You may feel the pull of time. After northwest Georgia opened for settlement, stouthearted people pioneered our locale. They met rugged challenges daily. Uniting in faith, 12 men and women established Enon Baptist Church in 1837. That same year, Andrew Jackson ended his term as president and 18 year-old Victoria became queen of England. Set Apart- The Baptist Church At Woodstock. From t...

Sunday, June 21, 2015. Part Two: 1897 Reeves House- Saving Yesteryear. Even the few farm animals still around here are shouting the news:. A major fund-raiser to transform the Reeves 1897 in-town farmhouse into a cultural arts center has begun. The 1897 Reeves farmhouse. How did their daily existence unfold? In 1980, townsfolk could still drive by the Fowler farmhouse. A picturesque cottage, the Hendrix home. Spring daffodils in the yard almost went unnoticed in comparison to the sunny-yellow place calle...

Patti Brady...Living and Writing in Woodstock, GA: Back When School Was Different

http://www.livingandwritinginwoodstockgeorgia.com/2015/07/back-when-school-was-different.html

Saturday, July 25, 2015. Back When School Was Different. An early, one-room schoolhouse similar to the type that housed Woodstock children in the 1800s. School starts soon in Woodstock. The children will enter modern, spacious, air-conditioned structures, hardly realizing how different school was in olden times when crude schoolhouses, short on comfort, once dotted this area. An example of a typical interior in an 1800s schoolroom. Educational tools were rare. Upper-level students at Woodstock School.

Living and Working Together with Children

Living and Working Together with Children. Unleashing your child's unlimited potential. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. IMAGINARY PLAYMATE: FRIEND OR FOE? Children have very wondrous imaginations. For instance, I once took care of a five-year-old who told me he had a big brother who was a pilot and flew an airplane. I thought he was serious. I asked him where his brother is now. He made a motion of a flying airplane with his hands and suddenly it went down and crashed. 8221; He said. You don’t have t...

Living a Neverending Story

Living a Neverending Story. Commentary on life's ordeals and adventures. Tuesday, May 17, 2011. I have been away for a long while. Not just from writing, but from my life itself. I tell people it is as if someone hit the pause button in my life. This week the play button was pressed and I am back. THANK GOD! I cannot even begin to tell you how this event changed everything and led to a speedy recovery. I thank God that this doctor had my daughter's best interest at heart and not his ego. I even stood to attention in my dream and said” Is that Mom’s voice? 8221; This is surprising for me in several ways. It is rare that we recall our dreams and when we do we only remember bits and pieces. But this dream had clarity of sound! So after 23 years I heard my mom’s voice again. What a gift!
