At the beginning of this year, Nate and I decided we needed to get off of SIFAT's campus and go somewhere to talk about this past year, where we are, this upcoming year (which February is almost over! Hopes, dreams, desires, etc. We went to Auburn to find a coffee shop to sit down and discuss these very things (because we don't seem to have any of those around these parts). For one of our date/adventure days, Nate and I decided to float/kayak the Talladega Creek. It was estimated a 7.25 mile ride and it was the best way we could have spent that time together! We had perfect weather and the water felt great (even though Nate was the only one to truly get a taste of how it felt, as his boat filled with water when he got pinned between a rock and a hard place)! The water was moving the entire time and there were some pretty good rapids throughout the ride. Posted by Laura Paulk.

Why do we ask our children to sit on a strange man's lap every year? The only thing that encouraged Sydney to go along with this plan was the prospect of a candy cane afterwards.
