Living our Good Life

Living our Good Life. Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Life has been pretty busy for us. My cow calved, her calf died, I mothered two calves onto her, and then I had to go through the process of milking her. Same process as my goats but she's a lot bigger. Fortunately she is very patient and we have developed a great bond. Thanks for following and for the comments and encouragement you have given me. Links to this post. Saturday, April 2, 2016. Living our Good Life: Recipes

http://livingourgoodlife.blogspot.com/p/recipes.html

Living our Good Life. A place to share old favourites and new recipes. Heat raspberries gently stirring to avoid sticking, until some juice released. Add sugar and stir constantly until sugar dissolved. Bring to boil and boil rapidly for at least 5 minutes then test to see if jam set. Pour into hot, sterilised jars and seal. Adjust quantities of raspberries and sugar as needed. Can also use a combination of summer berries. Both Damson Recipes come from River Cottage's Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Jam set...

Living our Good Life: Boston Bun recipe

http://livingourgoodlife.blogspot.com/2010/10/boston-bun-recipe.html

Living our Good Life. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. I picked up an absolutely awesome recipe for Boston buns in the weekend. It was my husband's great auntie's recipe from the War ration era. You can make one large round, or I make a dozen smaller individual buns. 1 C cold mashed potato. 2 tsp Baking Powder. Cream potato and sugar together in food processor or cake mixer. If lumpy sieve until smooth. Cook for 30minutes at 160 degrees Celsius. Takes about 15min for smaller buns. A few of my favourite things.

Living our Good Life: Garden Share Collective

http://livingourgoodlife.blogspot.com/2014/07/garden-share-collective.html

Living our Good Life. Monday, July 7, 2014. I have been tackling the pruning of the fruit trees. I have to admit that some of them haven't been pruned in the two years we have been here, and are a bit overgrown. I have given an Apricot tree a stern talking to as it has yet to flower and it is well and truly established so it might need to go and make way for something else! I have collected some hazelnuts and almonds and am looking forward to eating them super fresh. Labels: Garden Share Collective.

Living our Good Life: Plastic plastic everywhere!

http://livingourgoodlife.blogspot.com/2014/07/plastic-plastic-everywhere.html

Living our Good Life. Monday, July 21, 2014. As Plastic Free July draws to an end I find myself reflecting on my efforts to reduce single use plastic, and plastic in general. While I have been making conscious choices to avoid plastic, it seems to leap out at me. In terms of the TOP 4 (straws, plastic bottles, plastic bags and coffee cup lids) I have done ok. Plastic bottles - none personally but hubby has bought a couple of bottles of soft drink. My pet peeves that I have encountered this month would be:.

Living our Good Life: Autumn antics

http://livingourgoodlife.blogspot.com/2014/05/autumn-antics.html

Living our Good Life. Thursday, May 1, 2014. Another month down and another monthly report for the Garden Share Collective. My kale is coming on and I have been picking leaves for my green smoothies. My sprouting broccoli has been flowering so I think I am going to have to pick it quite small to avoid this. The brussel sprouts are growing well although they have a way to go before they will be producing anything. As to my jobs from last month. Preserve Blackboy peaches - All done until next year. Wage wa...

Living Our Green Life

Living Our Green Life. Living Our Green Life. Tuesday, October 30, 2012. I am such a slacker. I got a kid and a job and completely neglected good therapy! What's up with that? Well, I suppose a little rundown is in order. Addison is 10 1/2 months old! OMG, time flies! She loves the lady that keeps her at the daycare, but I don't love her helper. She has had a constant ear infection in her right ear for a while now and I am terrified that she is gonna have to have tubes! Let me just say that I LOVE WW!

Our Healthier Life | A family with a new perspective learning to live a healthier lifestyle

A family with a new perspective learning to live a healthier lifestyle. Every Little Bit Counts. July 8, 2012. My daughter and I have a saying… “Do it in stages” – and this helps with making big lifestyle changes as well as conquering those projects that overwhelm. While I don’t always hit the mark on all fronts nutritionally-speaking, the goal of creating a healthier environment for my family is still going strong. 2 Snake Plant: Found by NASA to absorb nitrogen oxides and formaldehyde. 3 Areca Palm: On...

Living Our High Life

Living Our High Life. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. This past weekend we took Lucy to KidsFest and met up with the Fuch's family for what we thought would be a good time. I have to say KidsFest left much to be desired but the kids had fun (which I guess is just as important:) Lucy loved the "ChooChoo" and talked about it all afternoon. She also had her first pony ride and attacked the Berenstein Bears. Monday, April 16, 2012. Like Father Like Daughter. Friday, March 23, 2012. 1 month ago today. So far, Lucy i...

Living Our Homeschool Life: A Balancing Act Of Faith

Living Our Homeschool Life: A Balancing Act Of Faith. Wednesday, December 10, 2014. I remember us talking about our core values and beliefs and both of us saying that we thought it would be really amazing to adopt a child someday. I realize now that when I said that to Matt years ago before we even dated, God was already moving and planting seeds in our hearts. Seeds that He would nurture and then grow seven years down the road. I love how God works! Do not be surprised. At the fiery trial. Matt and I ar...
