Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. Later in the chapter Jesus explains this parable. The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but then worldly anxiety and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit. What does this mean to us today? What are we to do about this? What is blocking our view of the Lord?
