Sarah Martin: Jab-ah-roo, Kak-ah-dooo...
http://sarahgmartin.blogspot.com/2007/08/jab-ah-roo-kak-ah-dooo.html
Monday, August 27, 2007. Or that ‘happy little Vegemite’ one. Yeah that always gets stuck in my head. Sorry, what was that? Now it’s stuck in your head? Ubirr (pronounced Ooo-beer which I find quite fitting considering the beer belly that I have proudly acquired in my mere four weeks here). Aboriginal art sites including some pictures of sorcery figures that were believed to be painted by Mimi spirits as they are on the underside of a 30m high cliff overhang (spooky! Oh and one of me and my friend? Twin ...

Sarah Martin: August 2007
http://sarahgmartin.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 27, 2007. Lords Safari Arnhem Land Tour. Some of the paintings they showed us were just amazing. Huge barramundi, rock pythons, fresh water turtle, wallaby and emu, painted in deep reds, yellow ochre and white cover every available surface. In some places the paintings have been layered on top of each other as generation after generation have recorded their lives. Our mode of transport for the day. Me and the rock art. This is where we had our morning tea. It was under a rocky overhang...

Sarah Martin: February 2006
http://sarahgmartin.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 25, 2006. And it's the final countdown da na na na. Does anyone else know that bad 80's song or is it just me? Friday, February 24, 2006. How many farewell drinks can one person have before it becomes, well, kind of silly? I had work dinner and drinks on Sunday, more dinner and drinks on Thursday and then some more dinner and drinks and Friday! It's not that I am self absorbed and think that the world wants to say 'bye' to me, I just like eating and drinking (who would have guessed!

Sarah Martin: 1 Hour Scenic Flight.
http://sarahgmartin.blogspot.com/2007/08/1-hour-scenic-flight.html
Monday, August 27, 2007. 1 Hour Scenic Flight. Highlights: the amazing view. Lowlights: nervousness and nausea. Oh and did I mention the nausea? My, my, what a small plane you have. aargh! The East Alligator River which is the border between KNP and Arnhemland. I have to say that I do admire the creativity that the early settlers used when naming the rivers. We have the East Alligator, South Alligator and West Alligator Rivers. Oh and no alligators. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Liz and Liv's blog.

Sarah Martin: Guluyambi Cultural Cruise (pronounced Goo-lee-arm-bee)
http://sarahgmartin.blogspot.com/2007/08/guluyambi-cultural-cruise-pronounced.html
Monday, August 27, 2007. Guluyambi Cultural Cruise (pronounced Goo-lee-arm-bee). Seeing my first croc in the wild. Being stalked above mentioned crocodile. I am nobody’s dinner. This is me. And a bus. Yay. Conway doing his best tourist impersonation. Guluyambi means 'paperbark raft' in the local aboriginal language. This however is not a paperbark raft. My second croc in the wild - woo hoo! This is a water carrying vessel made from paperbark. Pretty neat, eh? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Sarah Martin: July 2006
http://sarahgmartin.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 10, 2006. Monoply Board Pub Crawl. I have one word for this day - messy. That pretty much sums it up I think. The day started at 10:30 am on Saturday and Hayley and I found ourselves at home on Sunday morning at around 2 ish. Needless to say there are a few blurry bits but overall it was quite fun. I did manage to lose my jacket, break my sunglasses and lost my weekly tube ticket (about$50 worth! King's Cross Station and Leicester Square were in there but I can;t be too sure!
