May 4, 2014. Micah's first visit to Durham in 2010. We crossed paths for years prior to actually meeting. Many times we were at the same place at the same time. For example, we both attended the University of Oklahoma – went to the same college, had classes in the same building, and graduated the same year. We both attended Addy Awards galas ( advertising prom for adults. Finally, the stars aligned when we were separately invited to a post-work happy hour. It happened at the 44. The third time is a charm.

February 20, 2014. The Decision to Elope. We met in Oklahoma. Moved to North Carolina. Got engaged in Michigan. Upon returning home to Durham, we discussed our thoughts, desires, and possibilities. We toured our favorite venues. We soon became not only excited, but also overwhelmed by the possibilities. We determined what was the most important to each of us.
