Family Dog Show

The Family Dog Show is always popular and attracts dozens of entries of all breeds of dogs. There are serious classes and fun classes, including some for children only. The competition takes place in a designated area in the Main Arena, close to the parking area. The field has shade adjacent to the hedges, and there is plenty of water available. The organisers will not hold themselves responsible for accidents. The judge’s decision will be final. Classes will be amalgamated if insufficient entries.

Saturday 6th August 2016. What a great day the 2016 Show will be - we have the exciting Duck Herding displays which will make everyone laugh, and there should be some really high quality exhibits in the Produce Tent. There is also great live-music lined up to make the afternoon extra special. Please get in touch with the Secretary if you might be willing to get involved with helping before hand or on the day.

Each year there is the chance for any resident of the parish of Loddiswell to include their garden (amenity or vegetable growing, or mixed) for scrutiny by RHS qualified Judges. The judging criteria for the different types of garden and display are available on the Downloads Page. We have been particularly grateful to Avon Mill Garden Centre for donating generous prizes for the winners and runners up.

The Second World War caused the suspension of the Show again but in 1946 the Show and the Sports resumed and there has been a constantly changing variety of activities and entertainments accompanying the horticultural and athletic competitions traction engine and threshing; basket making, falconry, pottery, dog agility, radio-controlled models; horseshoeing; family dog show; ferret racing; vintage motorcycles; historic buses; even free fall parachuting!

Loddiswell Congregational Church
Loddiswell Congregational Church is a growing fellowship of Christians, with a membership across generations. We are an independent church affiliated to the Congregational Federation. We provide a wide range of activities and also offer a variety of worship styles in our programme of regular Sunday morning services. Children and Youth Work. We are really pleased to offer a range of inclusive activities for children on alternate Sundays and also 'The Attic' Youth Group, which meets on Wednesdays.

Saturday 1st August 2015. What a great day! Gates will open at 12.00, and the barbeque and Tea Tent will be serving refreshments and lunches until late in the day. The official Opening of the Show by the President, will take place at 1.00pm and the afternoon will proceed with a swing! Over the years, the judges have come to expect some very high quality exhibits at Loddiswell, and we are frequently complemented about many of the classes.
