The Log of Spartina: day five - Dun Cove to Dividing Creek
http://logofspartina.blogspot.com/2014/09/day-five-dun-cove-to-dividing-creek.html
Monday, September 29, 2014. Day five - Dun Cove to Dividing Creek. Light rain in the early morning hours. I climb out of the bivy, close the vents and get back in the sleeping bag. I'm very happy with the new venting system for the boom tent. With a east-northeast wind we are in the lee of Tilghman Island, water calm and making four knots up Poplar Island Narrows. The wind picks up and the sun tries to break through the overcast. Light rain comes and goes. Deadrises are working up ahead. Subscribe to: Po...

Thursday, May 21, 2015. A nice report on a Tangier Sound trip and Smith Island from Eddie, sailing UNA, a very nice Ian Oughtred Sooty Tern, above, can be found on his blog here. Top photo credit goes to Barry. And I think Eddie shot the two below. Rounding out the fleet were Kevin's Navigator Slip Jig, two Marsh Cats and Mike Wick's Haven 12 1/2. Take a look and enjoy. Holiday weekend weather here looks almost too perfect. Hope to get out once, maybe twice. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Day five -...

Pathfinder (designed by John Welsford). Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Http:/ welsfordsundownerbuild.blogspot.com/. Sunday, December 14, 2014. More than just building a boat. Building the Pathfinder has given me much more personal development than I anticipated. Yes, I have learnt many new skills how to build a boat. Yes, a boat is a vessel to the spiritual freedom of the ocean. Yes, sailing the boat I built with my own two hands gives a lot more satisfaction than sailing a bought sailboat. All mods work pe...

Monday, February 16, 2015. More like Profanity Producer! Just finished part 19 in the building series on the Core Sound 15. The prototype that went to a customer in Florida was completed almost 4 months ago but if feels like i haven't had a spare moment to work on videos since then. Well, this weekend I forced myself through another segment using a new program which always takes longer. I'm now using Power Director 13 which was a Christmas gift! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sailing Adventures of SOS: April 2014

Tuesday, April 22, 2014. A Little Side Project. While the CS 15 takes shape I had to get moving on another project I promised I would do for my friend Doug (AKA Ridgerunner) who is building the first Core Sound 20 MK3 from a kit. He has lots of pictures of the build on his blog Capt-Doug.blogspot.com. He will have the boat down at the Cedar Island get together in Florida in a short time and I built the weighted centerboard for the new boat. Shown here are the final seconds of machining the finished surfa...

Come Go With Us!!!
Come Go With Us! Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Time for the next adventure! I know it's been a year since I've posted to the blog! Call me lazy, a slacker, whatever! We didn't go cruising this past winter, but stayed in New Smyrna Beach (NSB), where we keep the boat. We really did enjoy being there. We didn't have to worry about our anchor dragging at night and looking for a place to hide out from the fronts. It was so stinking easy being at the dock! On to the next adventure of the year! The Log of Spartina
Monday, April 2, 2018. We sailed under a sun halo yesterday, the second time we've done so in nine days. What does that mean? Nearly loaded up to sail today but a last second check of the forecast - which included blue skies, rain, gusty cold wind, which all proved to be true - caused me to just take the day to relax.
