Pan-fried Fish with Oyster Mushrooms I Looking Through The Larder™

Looking Through The Larder. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Who’s Been Cooking. Pan-fried Fish with Oyster Mushrooms. April 20, 2015. 6 Comments ↓. Who doesn’t LOVE deep-fried fish? I love using fresh leaves to add texture and flavor to pan-fried meats. Arugula with its sharp, mustardy and peppery flavor is my all time preference. Trim the stems and wash the arugula leaves. Leave them to dry in a sieve. Add the oyster mushrooms to the hot butter. Reduce the cranberry juice to half.

Because it comes with mashed potatoes! And that says it all! Bring a pot of water to boil, add some salt and the pasta. When the pasta is done, strain and run cold water over it to stop it from cooking further and remove the starch. Blend them both until absolutely smooth or you will end up with starchy lumps in the white sauce. Yes, I said to f...

Looking Through The Larder. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Who’s Been Cooking. General Tso’s Chicken. January 26, 2015. 1 Comment ↓. I doubt if General Tso Tsung-Tang knew his name would become a hallmark at Chinese restaurants and take-outs worldwide! Frankly, I doubt if he ever sampled the ever popular culinary namesake that fuses Chinese with American food. Out with the cutting board and the knife and chop the garlic finely. For General Tso’s Chicken I prefer thigh cuts from the c...

Looking Through The Larder. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Who’s Been Cooking. Thai Green Curry Prawns- Gaeng Kiew Wan Goong. March 8, 2015. 4 Comments ↓. While Red Curry has a subtle sweet and delicate undertone, green curry coming packed with a punch. And I like it hot hot hot topped with some Bird’s Eye Chilies to make it hotter and yes lots of water! If you can find fresh leaves at some local oriental grocery store you are very lucky! Looking Through The Kaleidoscope
Looking Through The Kaleidoscope. Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Natalie is almost 9, but it's never too late to post pictures right? Natalie had a water park party right in our own back yard and it was a blast! We did a pinata, presents, then a whole lot of water. There was a sprinkler under the trampoline, a slip 'n slide, and another sprinkler. Dessert was popsicles and ice cream bars. Of course no party of Natalie's is complete without the pets! Thursday, February 26, 2015. Kai's Science Fair Project.

looking through the shutter...
Looking through the shutter. Tuesday, November 6, 2012. The media calls it the "Race that stops a Nation". I knew it was popular but really had no idea what to expect things to be like in the city. Last year I was off of work and watched the race from Hogs Breath Cafe with David and his parents. We saw a few people dressed up but nothing like I saw in the CBD today! Two of the girls on my team, Leanne and Brie, off to party with a supplier. Links to this post. Saturday, November 3, 2012. We took photos w...
