Our dear friends moved on Saturday and were brave enough to host a birthday party for their 4 year old on Sunday at their new home. Impressive! So I volunteered to make cupcakes for the birthday girl. She requested ladybugs and I was happy to oblige. I made perfectly chocolate cupcakes. With my favorite vanilla buttercream.

If I see something on a menu that has pesto in it I'm immediately drawn to it. The mere thought of pesto makes me think of summer and delicious dishes and spreading pesto deliciousness on crackers/toast/pita/my finger.whatever. It is so good. Garlic? Oh yeah. Fresh basil? Combine in food processor:. Huge handful of fresh basil leaves. Pinch of salt and pepper.

On Friday, the Archdioceses of Philadelphia announced that they were closing 49 schools. Four of the schools are High Schools. And one of those High Schools is my alma mater, the same school that my daughter is supposed to start in September 2012. I am devastated. I cried and had a major meltdown.
