Lori Miller's Web Log. Just another WordPress.com weblog. I am absolutely overwhelmed by all of the support and encouragement that I have received for the Race for The Cure. So many dear family and friends, as well as friends from long ago that I have recently reconnected with, are supporting me through financial donations and words of encouragement. I had chemo on Wednesday and Stacy and Barbara visited and brought lots of snacks and goodies. Thank you Stacy for the peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

Lori Miller's Web Log. Just another WordPress.com weblog. I had a new chemo regimen yesterday of Carboplatin and Taxotere. When I see Devon next Wednesday and we review how my body has responded to this treatment I will know more about my time line for surgery and radiation. So, medical updates next week. Lori Miller's Web Log. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Last week I completed my third Taxol/Carboplatin treatment. These have turned out to be rougher than I expected. My white blood cell count was low so I was prescribed Neupogen and learned how to give myself injections. Neupogen is a man-made protein that stimulates the growth of white blood cells. I had to do daily injections for 3 days and by day 3 I was a pro! The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s determination.

When I received my diagnosis, my whole world was turned upside down. My husband and I had just moved into our “dream” house and were starting parenting classes and completing paperwork to adopt through the state foster care program. All of that has come to a halt.
