So, here we are today. Not quite finished, but a long way from where we started. The Lotus Eleven 236 is now owned by Wilson Motor Company. Which is continuing onward with the restoration. Front view showing the new nose. The scuttle, sponsons, and tail are all original. The dash is ready for covering and the installation of instruments. New header tank, and headers, original (rebuilt) brake master cylinders. New cast magnesium differential housing, original brakes. New radiator, original steering rack.

At the end of the 1963 season Ed traded the car to Southern California Elva dealer Jack Lyon for a formula junior, keeping his Alfa engine. Jack may have raced the car in 1964 in GM as he appears in several entry forms that year driving a Lotus XI, but it is more likely that he sold the car off sans engine. After flying out to California the car was acquired from Joe in the fall of 1999. Shortly thereafter a truck appeared at my garage door carrying the car and many boxes of parts. Rather than tackle the chassis restoration myself I shipped the car off to noted Lotus restoration specialist Mike Brotherwood in the UK. Mike's first question was "what do you want to do with it?
