http://dmpinko.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Colorado in early October. Emily and I visited the Rocky Mountains National Park near Estes Park at the start of October. We flew to Denver from Chicago. Emily took a seat in the cockpit prior to take-off. In addition to a selection of photographs, I have included some stats from our hike that were recorded using a GPS and heart-rate monitor. Day 1: 8.5 km, 500 m of climbing ( Garmin stats. Day 2: 10.8 km, 628 m of climbing ( Garmin stats. Our second day of hiking was the mo...

The Objective Fox: The Fraser Coast
http://dmpinko.blogspot.com/2012/07/fraser-coast.html
Monday, July 09, 2012. Emily and I headed south from Agnes Water and stopped in for tea at a little cafe in Rosedale. Later, we took a dip at Moore Park Beach, just north of Bundaberg. The surf was pretty calm here. Later we took some lunch in town and continued heading south. There were a few vehicles travelling along the beach here. (It's okay to drive on the sand in parts of the Fraser coast.) However, you must be aware of the tides! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am a chemist from central west...

The Objective Fox: January 2012
http://dmpinko.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 09, 2012. My return to Australia for a second back-to-back summer. In mid-October, I arrived back in Sydney and some great mates joined me for a few celebratory drinks. Here we are at the Scary Canary. We based ourselves here and then had a super-touristy long weekend in Sydney that included a monorail ride, a trip to Manly on the ferry, shoe shopping and delicious cocktails. Back in Cowra, I found that Puss was doing very well! In November, the Pinkerton men headed to Tathra for a week o...

The Objective Fox: Snorkelling around Lady Musgrave Island
http://dmpinko.blogspot.com/2012/07/snorkelling-around-lady-musgrave-island.html
Thursday, July 05, 2012. Snorkelling around Lady Musgrave Island. Here's a few different types of coral that Em and I swam by in the southern section of the Great Barrier Reef, near Lady Musgrave Island. A nice bloke called Allan took a photo of Emily and I with my old-school camera (which was taking on water). And here we are next to the boat between dives and probably talking about the lack of clownfish. Alan snapped this guy but somehow we missed him. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am a Fish.

The Objective Fox: Treatin' the sweet thing
http://dmpinko.blogspot.com/2013/05/i-spent-couple-of-hours-of-quality-time.html
Saturday, May 25, 2013. Treatin' the sweet thing. I spent a couple of hours of quality time with my significant other today. I turned by back in haste a month ago and she hasn't been the same. It was time to make things right. It was beautifully sunny and I just took my time. It was a beautiful day in Brisbane - 23 deg. C and gentle (7 km/h breeze). Time to shoot off to squash now. The Objective Fox: December 2011
http://dmpinko.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Arcata, Humboldt University and San Francisco. After leaving the redwoods, Emily and I stayed for a day in Arcata. There was a bustling farmers' market taking place in the town square when we arrived. This town felt very laid-back. And we made a couple of trips to the great bar, Humboldt Brews. Arcata is a college town, home to Humboldt SU. The weather was pretty mild and reminded me of the east coast of Australia. Next to the chemistry faculty on campus was a Wollemi pine!

The Objective Fox: June 2011
http://dmpinko.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Savannah, GA (Part 6). Rattlesnakes on the ground, alligators in the water and fighter-jets in the sky! Jenny and I played a round of golf at the Crosswinds course on Easter Sunday. Jenny's is going over the water on this par three hole. That's rattlesnake territory behind me. And in the tree: it's more Spanish Moss. A little further south, we came across this fountain in Forsyth Park. Monday, June 20, 2011. Savannah, GA (Part 5). And here's Jen again:. Sunday, May 20, 2012. The KPMG mens touch football team competed today in the Corporate Games, held at the University of Queensland. We played three games back-to-back and managed to draw our second game. The scores were 5-2, 3-3 and 5-2. (I scored a try in the second match.) Here's a photo of me with the team. The Objective Fox: July 2011
http://dmpinko.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 22, 2011. May and June runs. Cat, Josh and I ran in a 5 km race at Granger in the second-half of May. Here are a couple of shots that Emily took of Cat and I coming down the home straight. My time was 22 minutes and something-or-other. Afterwards, Emily and I took a ride along the East Bank Trail in to town for lunch. And then I was rolled in this game of chess. Spring at Notre Dame. You can see that the trees are getting their leaves back here and it only took until May! Wow - some blue sky!
