I have considerable experience of supporting and guiding staff and students in a variety of academic and research contexts as well as recent experience of taking a leadership role in community art inititaives in Dumfries and Galloway. Outside the academic sector I have an active role in the creative arts field in Dumfries and Galloway, taking the lead in establishing a new community arts group – Creative Whithorn Association. I am a board member on the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival.

My academic research interests encompass a wide range of subject areas and are linked to my own fine art practice; aesthetics and the development of visual languages within early western cultures; teaching and learning; film and animation; and classical history.
