Wednesday, December 25, 2013. This Christmas Eve was the first time we have ever been by ourselves. It was enjoyable to relax and not rush. We enjoyed a nice steak dinner together. Then we watched a Christmas movie, laid cookies out for Santa, and put the girls to bed. Santa then worked his/her magic and was done by 9:15pm. There is a store in the states that carries their things in Washington D.C.-Loopee Design- which may need a visit this summer. I also learned it is time to start your pumpkins! Monday, August 30, 2010. There have been two hikes this summer by the Trail Ticklers, and that will do for the time being. It is too HOT around here! Earlier in the summer Martine. And I hiked the Telegraph Canyon Trail via Rimcrest. Despite our early start the temperature reached at least 100' on the trail, with no trees to provide shade. We did see bobcat and snake tracks, other than that we just tried to finish the hike as quickly as possible! Device so I won't be on you-tube. Tuesday, August 3, 2010.

The neat thing that I have already discovered is how much more I appreciate gifts that are given to me! A sweet couple brought over a Valentine cone with candy inside. What a windfall! I hadn't bought candy for the holiday prior to my decision-how fun it was to be the recipients of some. It has only been 4 days and I'm already seeing the benefits.

October 11, 2011. Chapter Books and Dance Classes. Yesterday was a great day in the Smith house. James read his very first chapter book (48 pages) and Piper went to her first solo dance class. James read High Rise Private Eyes: The Case of the Missing Monkey. There were a few words that he came across that he had a little trouble with but he worked through them and is really reading like a champ. Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Toms taco is in Anaheim, California. It is the same as the all famous Titio's tacos in LA. ToMs is great because I don't have to deal with the drive or the traffic and it's only 5 minutes away from Aunt Kelli's. Their salsa is AMAZING! I normally like chunky salsa but this wins all the awards of best salsa! The chips are fresh and homemade.
