Slow Lane Life II. How we moved to the West Country and learned to slow down even more. July 19, 2015. I'm a retired, downsized, 60-something who moved from the chilly North East to the wet South West with a heap of dogs and cats. I live in an ancient cottage with them and The Gardener, and am happier here than I have ever been. I blog for fun, and rejoice in the wonderful connections blogging makes with other interesting people. 8 thoughts on “ Tantalising. July 19, 2015 at 12:47 pm. Frayed at the edge.

Slow Lane Life II. How we moved to the West Country and learned to slow down even more. On the hottest day of the year. July 3, 2015. A crumpled, creased, ring-finger-swollen, feet-aching, damp-eyed, and overwhelmingly happy day amongst friends and family. And the maddest wedding cake. May you have a long and happy marriage, my dearest son and new daughter. 26 thoughts on “ On the hottest day of the year. July 3, 2015 at 1:10 pm. Every best wish and happiness to you all. I’m trying to get back into regular blogging, as I miss it, and you, but have little to blog about at present. But here goes, a blog about not very much, just to keep my hand in. I missed the deadline for the Emsworth Village Show. And I had six tomatoes. A miniature garden ( remember this. I would have put Mario Panzer. In for the best (honorary) chicken. But I can't upload any pictures because I've not quite figured it out and I can't take any new ones because he keeps escaping to the garden next door and hides under the ivy. Ah well. No prizes there then. I am awarding you a special Tomato Prize in lieu of a real one. 6 September 2009 at 23:17. You are so naughty! Lavender and...

February 19, 2010 by badsparklythings. I feel like I’ve dragged myself here, to Friday, with sheer grit and brute (brute=hamster) force. I think it was the promise of spring last weekend, a broken promise that turned into a rather grey and busy week that has made it seem so lengthy. With dinner last night (delicious, by the way!

Why not?: October 2013
http://kamsarmer.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
A dabbler's diary. Blah, blah, blah. Sunday, October 20, 2013. It's a variation on Abi's lovely Drop Stitch Cowl. I'm using chunky yarn and 13 needles. It's frabjous. I think it will be a Christmas gift. I know someone who loves GREEN. And the idea of having a handmade Christmas gift ready in less than 24 hours well before the end of October is a heady thing. slow lane life: Sandbagged
http://attica-slowlife.blogspot.com/2012/11/sandbagged.html
Sunday, 25 November 2012. Everyone was out until after midnight, protecting their doorways as best they could. We had walked home from dinner with a friend at the top of the hill, growing ever more alarmed as we approached our own home, gradually wading ankle deep in the swirling brown water, and dreading the possibility of discovering a flooded cottage and outraged cats.
