Trying to apply Permaculture principles to my lunchbox. Diams; Leave a comment. I’m keen to know what you think about using silicone bakeware, muffin cases in particular, so I have set up a simple poll today. I have quite a few silicone items in my kitchen; spatulas, a whisk, cake and jelly moulds and so on. I like them but when certain friends come around I feel strangely guilty, unethical, unhealthy and want to hide them! So why the health and ethical concerns? Zoo Lunch For Two. Dosa slices | Low Impact Lunch

Trying to apply Permaculture principles to my lunchbox. Diams; Leave a comment. A couple of days ago I set up a batch of South Indian dosa mix which has been gently fermenting in my kitchen. Myself and my toddler wolfed down two mighty pancakes yesterday for breakfast, today the mix was finished by making lunchtime slices. As with all fermented recipes, a little forward planning is required and the easily digested results are well worth it! Dosa are great for slicing and carrying in a lunchbox along with...
Grow Lunch | Low Impact Lunch

Trying to apply Permaculture principles to my lunchbox. I dream of forest gardens, small holdings, kitchen gardens and of meals on my table which have been produced, from the soil up , my family. None of these are possible right now but even we can easily grow some lunchbox ingredients and we can continue to learn how to make our dreams manifest. I’ll be posting regularly about my above ground gardening antics and will link to some useful posts on my other blog Urbanherbology. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
School project | Low Impact Lunch

Trying to apply Permaculture principles to my lunchbox. With help from other teachers, parents and the 3 to 5 year olds at my school, I’m trying to create an interesting and productive edible balcony in the heart of Amsterdam. It will serve as a small teaching garden for our school and I’m trying to apply as many Permaculture principles as possible to its planning and implementation. I’ll post snippets about our progress, or otherwise, from time to time. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.
Hairy bittercress – Free salad | Low Impact Lunch

Trying to apply Permaculture principles to my lunchbox. Hairy bittercress – Free salad. Diams; Leave a comment. I did a spot of roof gardening this morning and was very pleased to find this herb growing in a neglected plant pot. It’s thought of as weed by most and yet it’s providing at least two services here; covering lots of surface soil thus acting as a green mulch and also it’s soon to be part of my food! Posted in: Forage lunch. Diams; Grow lunch. Larr; Ransoms are back on the plate! Get every new p...

Low Impact Lunch | Trying to apply Permaculture principles to my lunchbox
Trying to apply Permaculture principles to my lunchbox. Diams; 1 Comment. This recipe was an experiment to see if I could use up lots of seaweed in a tasty lunch omelette. It was very successful. I need to experiment some more with different types of seaweed but I purpose it as being suitable for foraged edible seaweeds and shop bought dried, or fresh…. How I made it…. The seaweed should be finely shredded for this sort of recipe. Let me know if you try it. Diams; Leave a comment. Following Sandor Katz&#...

Low Impact Man international. Posted on December 28, 2008 by lowimpactman, translated by Didier. Sometimes people make the remark that the environmental pressure would be a lot less if there would be less little Africans, Indians or Chinese born. We have however to account the personal eco-impact of each child born. A baby born in India or Bolivia will at age 60 have produced an estimated 60 tons of CO. Emissions. Who is born in Belgium or The Netherlands will have produced no less than 900 tons of CO.
