Luke Langholz Pottery: May 2013

http://www.lukelangholzpottery.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 6, 2013. Thought I'd pop in and send a few photos your way. In addition to "the move," we're looking a lot of travel in our immediate future (and immediate past). Krystal had to travel to Pennsylvania the last week of April for the annual meeting of a board on which she serves, so I tagged along for the trip. We spent a couple days in Philadelphia catching the sights (historical and otherwise) and practicing for our upcoming European backpacking trip (what, I haven't mentioned that yet? Found...

Luke Langholz Pottery: Happy New Year! (or "My Favorite Albums of 2014")

http://www.lukelangholzpottery.com/2015/01/happy-new-year-or-my-favorite-albums-of.html

Friday, January 2, 2015. Or "My Favorite Albums of 2014"). While I stand by my previous statement that this is not the best place to keep up with me (for that, try social media: Facebook. Or stand in the street outside my house and wave as we come and go! I couldn't pass up my annual tradition/habit/neuroses of posting my favorite Albums of 2014. Shortly to follow is the list in. Without further ado, my picks for Top 10 Albums of 2014:. The Black Keys - Turn Blue. Maybe, but I'm not. Kye Kye - Fantasize.

Luke Langholz Pottery: Studio Update

http://www.lukelangholzpottery.com/2014/02/studio-update.html

Thursday, February 20, 2014. There's clay on my jeans today, so that's a good place to start. I've finally gotten back behind the wheel after nearly a year apart. She's a little touchy, and the clay doesn't seem to be quite awake yet after some hibernation, but it felt good, for sure. Meanwhile: it's only been a month since I last logged in here! That oughtta count for something, right? Studio/Laundry before. Room is in the neighborhood of 12x12, if I recall correctly. Last of the tiles in place! The fin...

Luke Langholz Pottery: January 2013

http://www.lukelangholzpottery.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 24, 2013. It took me long enough, but here's the first update from this side of 2013! So what* else have I been up to if I haven't been throwing? Sometimes Temperance tries to play hide-and-seek without telling us we're playing. This is her trying to blend in with a wool throw on the ottoman. She's also dangerously invisible on the bathroom rug. And most of the carpet in the house. So, mostly: watch out for the invisible dog. At the start of the year, I was pleased to present the commun...

Farm Boy To Foodie: December 2011

http://farmboytofoodie.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Farm Boy To Foodie. Tuesday, December 27, 2011. I’ve been mulling casseroles over a lot recently. Most of the trouble probably can be boiled down to the fact that I have yet in my adult life been invited to a potluck dinner. Sure I’ve of course gone to parties and brought a dip or an appetizer, but there’s never been that type of event that I can bring a filling casserole as my contribution. Anyway I digress…. That last statement though got me thinking. Here is my little Venn diagram to show this, with s...

Farm Boy To Foodie: March 2013

http://farmboytofoodie.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Farm Boy To Foodie. Monday, March 18, 2013. One Last Post for Saint Patrick's Day (Maybe). Saint Patrick’s Day might have been yesterday, but I found no need to stop doing Irish-inspired posts. This might be the last for a bit or I’ll have one more this week, we’ll see. In any case, this post goes off the topic of food and instead has to do with music. As far as Irish music goes, I can be a bit of a traditionalist snob. I’ll admit that right off the bat. It also doesn’t help that Joan bought me a b...

Another School year is upon us! Here we are for another year of fun and excitement in clay! This summer I spent a lot of time at school getting things reorganized, and cleaned up a bit! I also started to recycle a bit of the scrap clay . Just a little. This is all from last year's classes. I sure wish I had a pug mill! You know how I li...

White Feet: So I Guess This Is Spring

http://white-feet.blogspot.com/2013/03/so-i-guess-this-is-spring.html

Sunday, March 24, 2013. So I Guess This Is Spring. Sometime soon I’ll maybe have a post on something besides the weather, but this won’t be it. Nearly everyone in the Midwest (and in many parts beyond) has been complaining about how this year’s winter seems to be lingering into spring. That’s quite literal actually. The first day of spring this past Wednesday I went out to run at 4 pm and it was a downright cold 21F – with a 6F wind chill! It’s really just that comical “HONK! 8221; as they fly along.

White Feet: March 2015

http://white-feet.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 25, 2015. So I've been pretty absent on this blog for let's see. over a year and a half. Geez. I suck. Before I get into the normal flow of this blog and talk about running / cycling I wanted to touch on two (normal? Life things that have happened. I feel like there's some other things but that's really the biggies. Well I guess I did get a different job (related to the grad school / new career path) and fairly recently a new car (because the old one was dying a slow painful death)&#...

White Feet: Thoughts

http://white-feet.blogspot.com/2013/04/thoughts.html

Friday, April 19, 2013. This post is a bit disjointed, but I felt I needed to share my thoughts about Monday’s tragedy in Boston. It’s been talked about anywhere and everywhere, so I’m sorry if this post is crossing that line about how much talking about the bombings you can take. However, I feel (as with many tragedies) it’s best to openly talk about things and not for everyone to keep it to themselves. It’s good to share. Life gets in the way. That meant leaving the coverage while I ran my scheduled 4 ...

White Feet: To Run or Not to Run, That is Never Really a Question

http://white-feet.blogspot.com/2013/02/to-run-or-not-to-run-that-never-is.html

Thursday, February 07, 2013. To Run or Not to Run, That is Never Really a Question. This is the internal conversation I’ve been having on a daily basis for the last week –. Do I have to run today? Couldn’t I just take a nap instead? I’m still tired from yesterday’s run…. Today’s going to be tough too. I mean really, it looks like this outside…. Do I have to run? It’s go time. To explain, up until today it has snowed at least an inch every February day so far. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Simple te...

White Feet: August 2013

http://white-feet.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 05, 2013. Falling Behind, Now Reaching Forward. It may have been wishful thinking, but at the start of the year I had the goal in my head of running 1000 miles. Injury. Shin splints. The end of May / beginning of June was basically a wash when it came to running. I jumped the gun a few times and went on runs when I shouldn’t have. However once I became more patient and started a routine of icing my shins and wearing compression socks, the pain finally subsided. This month I’m schedul...

Farm Boy To Foodie: New Year, New Problems

http://farmboytofoodie.blogspot.com/2013/01/new-year-new-problems.html

Farm Boy To Foodie. Thursday, January 17, 2013. New Year, New Problems. So far this year, I haven’t done anything super grand in the realm of food. I’ve been cooking yes, but really have just done mostly small things or things I’ve made before. I haven’t cooked anything new or exciting. That isn’t to say however that everything has gone exactly to plan. To start, Joan and I just had a quiet New Years (quite on purpose), staying in just enjoying the evening together. The spicing needs to be tweaked too.
