An Introspectional Journey: My thoughts on ELCA...
http://luthersbrewer.blogspot.com/2009/08/my-thoughts-on-elca.html
Thursday, August 27, 2009. My thoughts on ELCA. I have a question for ELCA, when will ELCA allow:. An openly heterosexual who is unmarried and living with a member of the opposite-sex to be a pastor or bishop? You see the recent ELCA decision has been on my mind a lot lately. I'm struggling with it, I'll be completely honest. Lets talk about homosexuality for a bit. The Bible says this about Homosexuality:. 9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither ...

I'm just finally getting around to posting the Sermon to the blog. Please excuse any grammar errors, etc. I was the only person reading it :-). Reformation Sunday 2012 Sermon. When I bring up Fellowship what thoughts come to your mind? We like meals and we often associate a meal with a time of fellowship. And we know the rest of the story.]. Here’s a big one, Jesus f...

An Introspectional Journey: What would Andy Griffith do.
http://luthersbrewer.blogspot.com/2009/11/what-would-andy-griffith-do.html
Friday, November 6, 2009. What would Andy Griffith do. As a child I loved to watch re-runs, Andy Griffith was and still is one of my favorite all time shows. On the drive home from the dreaded "Parent Teacher Conferences" today I started thinking. "What would Andy Griffith do." it expanded into "What did my parents do.". Yet for the most part I just got good enough grades to keep Mom and Dad from screaming at me. Here I am now the parent and I can see that my sons are following in my footsteps.

Leaves from a Lutheran notebook. Thursday, July 31, 2008. Here we are after a whirlwind of wonderful worship: Sean was lector, assisting minister, usher and communion assistant (whew! The Thursday night service is more informal- the sermon is usually dialogue-style, so I was able to use some of my teaching techniques. Sean's working on editing the audio file now to post on our website- I'll add a note here when it's up. Links to this post. Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Ketchup on my hot dog*. At a theater ne...

Leaves from a Lutheran notebook. Wednesday, August 27, 2008. So how's that move coming? Cardinal rule of blogging: broken. I could make excuses about Internet access and bein' busy, but Sean's been in the same situation as me and managed to send out quite a few posts since we arrived. Of course, he was often doing this:. I love waking up and looking out to see it every morning through these huge, cheerful windows. We're feeling blessed in so many ways these days. So, now that I. Which you can see feature...

Leaves from a Lutheran notebook. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Palm Sunday had everything: procession with palms, a children's play about donkeys, the Passion reading, a baptism, communion with a huge crowd . when David showed me his watch during the last hymn I couldn't believe it. We were right on time. Trust your supervisor, padawan. On Good Friday I got to be an acolyte, which I really do enjoy. David's sermon, "How close is God? Included the line: "You cannot be alone.". He is risen indeed! This is a Fli...

http://lutherannotebook.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Leaves from a Lutheran notebook. Saturday, March 14, 2009. Bon Voyage, Grandpa Swift. My Grandpa Swift died on Monday, March 9. He'd recently started dialysis for kidney failure. This morning, a group of friends from church and school gathered at our apartment for a short "saying good-bye" service, and right now my family is gathering in Pittsford, NY for the funeral. I am so grateful for the support of our friends and our community of faith here in Bratislava! A Eulogy for Grandpa Swift. There’s g...
