The history of the violin runs for centuries as an instrument that is used in various musical genres like classical, pop, jazz and country. It is a small, hollow stringed instrument with a long neck and four strings tuned from low to high; with each note having a perfect fifth to the one below it. Some of the models made are: Stradivari, Guarnerius Del Jeso, Guadagnini Rogeri and own designs of and models. The cello soon became very popular among royal families. Beethoven and Bach were the first composers to make the cello a big part of their compositions and there were soon a lot of cello players evolved. The cello is today a very essential instrument, on its own, in quartets, and in orchestras. At first the cello didn’t have an end pin. It was soon to be a standard feature though, after a cello player carved a stick out of wood to hold his cello while he played, and other cello players loved the idea.

So why is the viola so maligned? Fast forward to the present all the Dean have in fact raised the stature of the viola to a soulful solo instrument. Krzysztof Wegrzyn - Violin Maker
Krzysztof Wegrzyn was born in Zakopane (100 km from Cracow ) in 1954. He graduated from Technical School studying Making String Instruments in Nowy Targ. He broadened his technical knowledge in the workshop of Franciszek Mardula in Zakopane, who is consider a Master in this field in Poland. Krzysztof Wegrzyn has participated in many international as well as Polish violin makers' competitions.
