Quilting in chaos: Bionic Gear Bag
http://liz-quiltinginchaos.blogspot.com/2015/06/i-started-with-pack-of-sample-fabric.html
Friday, 5 June 2015. Happy Monday everyone. After much tearing out of hair with changes to my computer and phone making it impossible to post pictures I think I may now have glitches on the run. So here are the images that I hope will help my Bionic baggers. I started with a pack of sample fabric from Kisco. They are all slightly wider than the pattern calls for by about 1/2 an inch but as they were all the same so I went for it. They are all backed with light weight interfacing. I like to top stitch, I ...

Quilting in chaos: Have I been quilting?
http://liz-quiltinginchaos.blogspot.com/2015/03/have-i-been-quilting.html
Monday, 30 March 2015. Have I been quilting? I was told the lights have not been on in my sewing room lately. I think I have made up for it. This very cute bears quilt has gone back to T for her grand daughter. A totally crappy picture that does not do this lovely quilt justice. This is a quilt made by Newton craft group, finally finished, a pink one is on the machine waiting for quilting tomorrow. And this is going back to D tomorrow. I love batiks. She chose a swirly panto. 31 March 2015 at 12:12.

Quilting in chaos: Just keep quilting, but hopefully not cursing.
http://liz-quiltinginchaos.blogspot.com/2015/05/just-keep-quilting-but-hopefully-not.html
Thursday, 28 May 2015. Just keep quilting, but hopefully not cursing. A bit like Dory my mantra lately has been just keep . not swimming but quilting. I have made lots of finishes but am unable to blog about them because between Blogger (why is my Blogger account now on a gmail address that I never use? And F* *ing Google with it's new swanky makes no sense to me what so ever and Dropbox no longer working I am almost ready to weep, curse and throw something all at the same time. 29 May 2015 at 07:29.

Quilting in chaos: July 2015
http://liz-quiltinginchaos.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, 24 July 2015. Bionic gear bag part 2. So the next modification I made was to the bottom edge of the sides, I made a little seam 4 stitches long at the bottom of each of the 4 folded lines. Clip diagonally close into the seam. Turn through and press. I chalked the fold lines and then stitched them with a long stitch length that can be removed later. I seam the bottom of the pockets, 2 1/2 inches from the folded edge by the zip for the first pocket and 3 1/4 inches for the 3 others. Links to this p...

Quilting in chaos: Bionic gear bag.
http://liz-quiltinginchaos.blogspot.com/p/bionic-gear-bag.html
Well my fellow Bionic Gear Bag Babes I have just completed no 2. Having said I would never do another). Lessons learned . changes to the side panels have made putting it together so much easier. After some unpicking I also discovered that the outer should be quite firm to make sewing the bag together easier and to give a neater finish. Quilting a 1 inch grid over the outer piece, a layer of batting with a fairly stiff cotton layer make a firm but manageable foundation. More lessons learned to follow.

master of patience?: Festival of Quilts
http://lyndahill.blogspot.com/2015/08/festival-of-quilts.html
How I demonstrate that far from being a master of patience, I have a short attention span and am attracted to try out lots of fabric related techniques and ideas. Monday, 10 August 2015. Last week it was the wonderful Festival of Quilts at the NEC in Birmingham. It's a must-see as far as I'm concerned, plus an opportunity to do some serious shopping. I had my list all ready. And here is the result. I'm sure it'll be better once it's quilted - once I think of a pattern to bring out the design. Bonnie is b...
