Many of those elderly who are on dialysis cannot complete many Activities of Daly Living (ADLs). The elderly often have more than one medical aliment at a time, some of which can be made worse by dialysis treatment. Eric's Later Years Care Blog. Tuesday, September 1, 2009. Of course, there are all of those other stereotypical thoughts on the elderly. These include that they cannot produce to the community or that they are all disabled, or that they are grumpy and mean. These are traditional thoughts I have heard over the years that are complete generalizations which are only made by those who are grumpy themselves, just based off my experiences alone. Thus, such stereotypes are untrue. Shoe on other foot.

My maternal grandmother detested driving and gave up on it well before her mental capabilities began to age. On the other side, my paternal grandparents insisted on driving well after their children suggested that it was no longer safe due to their decreased mental alertness.
