August 26, 2014. Follow re[vive] on WordPress.com. I wrote this a week and a half ago… and still haven’t been able to load pictures… eventually…). You know that feeling when you’ve been anticipating something for so long, thinking about it, planning for it, stressing out about it, that when it finally happens it doesn’t even seem real? That’s how the last two and a half weeks have been, but I think it’s finally starting to sink in. Let me tell you a couple things about myself. I am a first grade teacher.

April 19, 2015. Follow re[vive] on WordPress.com. Today I met Mike. He is also called Kweku, Wednesday born. He drove us home from church and we gave him 12 Ghana cedis for it. Typical Sunday. But during the drive we had a conversation. Do you know that you look like an angel would look? The other man, what price did he say? Ah, it is because of your skin. The price is 1 cedi, they say 2 cedi. Where are you from? Yes, I know you live in Ghana, but where do you come from? My brother, he lives in Washington.

Merry Christmas! Melkam Genna! | re[vive]

https://lydiabelcher.wordpress.com/2014/01/08/merry-christmas-melkam-genna

January 8, 2014. Follow re[vive] on WordPress.com. Despite my blogging failure in the area of punctuality, this post is actually. Two weeks late. It’s just one day late. Yesterday was Ethiopian Christmas! Unfortunately, since I spent 15 and half hours driving through snow and ice yesterday, I did not have time to blog.) Exactly one year ago I was in the tiny town of Yetebon celebrating my second Christmas of the season with some of the most beautiful children I have met. With my second graders. Selam and...

I'm a ghana. Returning to life in Ghana (West Africa). Laughable Moments →. I’m Not Sorry. November 18, 2013. Today is my last morning in South Africa before heading back to Ghana. My friend and I went to the mall to pick up a few last minute things. Backstory: Ghana has NO GOOD DESSERTS! So back to the story, th...

I finally was able to string up my hammock that I brought with me. It was glorious and I was very thankful that I had the extension straps as well because our pillars at our house are very far apart.
