Special Teams - Main

The Division 28 Technical Rescue Team (TRT) is comprised mainly of personnel from the Urbana Fire Department. Champaign and Danville Fire Departments provide some additional manpower to this team. The TRT is responsible for responding to incidents involving building collapse, rope rescue, trench rescue or confined-space rescue. This team utilizes a broad range of tools that require hundreds of hours of initial training and extensive refresher training to maintain knowledge. Division Chief Chad Hensch.

The MABAS 28 Training Committee was established to encourage and improve the training opportunities available to members of MABAS Division 28. Our goal is to facilitate interaction in training between members of all agencies to improve emergency services. The committee is overseen by the VP of Training and elects a chairperson to conduct.
