LizziesJourney2012: August 2015
http://lizziesjourney2012.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 13, 2015. Oh, August is well underway and I skipped July. Wow, it is mid August and still getting some very cold nights and days - and the forecast for the weekend is bleak and wet - oh well, spring will undoubtedly come at some stage. The magnolia tree across the road is looking great so the natural kingdom things spring is here. The really good news is that Peter has been cleared to have his back operation - fusing of 3? A community quilt top made from scrappy strips and squares. I now...

LizziesJourney2012: July 2015

Sunday, July 5, 2015. Well, the "informal" afternoon tea for Peter's 90th birthday is over - and I am so glad it was such a lovely afternoon. Most of the family were out of town, but they did phone, send cards etc which were much appreciated. Old canoeing friends were able to come, and a few newer friends and was just a lovely friendly afternoon with too much nice food. The photo book I put together was very well received and the lovely letters and memory notes will be wonderful to save and look back on.

LizziesJourney2012: Quilts 2014
http://lizziesjourney2012.blogspot.com/p/quilts-2014.html
I have just finished a quilt Jane's new grandaughter, Isaac and his partner have a gorgeous little girl Cavalli-Jane so I made a flannelette baby quilt with the material Catherine had given me. I am very pleased with it and it is very cuddly. This is the quilt I finished in April. It was made for Age Concern but the local Guild says it is too lovely and we should save it for someone special that will look after it - so I am on the look out for someone special! LizziesJourney2012: Kids, kids and rain
http://lizziesjourney2012.blogspot.com/2015/06/kids-kids-and-rain.html
Monday, June 1, 2015. Kids, kids and rain. May was a month in which I went down to Palmerston North to mind the littlies twice. Someone just loved getting wet and muddy making sandballs! Did lots of book reading, took them out to Himatangi beach and it wasnt windy this time thank goodness, and Cordelia had got over her dislike of yukky sand - and this time we remembered spades for digging holes and making sandcastles. Old knees dont like sandhills - but kids sure do! Breakfast in the bus is always a hit!

LizziesJourney2012: March 2015
http://lizziesjourney2012.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 28, 2015. Quilting, Visit from Cordelia and some welcome rain. Then had my sewing fix with the lovely Wattle Downs ladies - they all live in that area except me - fun group to meet with and share ideas without any pressure, yet confidence boosting for trying something different. Using up scraps and some community fabric from the Guild I have made two neonatal quilts this week! Must get back to Callums birthday quilt. Obviously not been to the beach very often! LizziesJourney2012: February 2015

Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Week three of leg - visitors and gannets. Yes, leg is getting more mobile, but still swollen and stiff. it appears all stories about long slow process are true. A quiet week this week after a busy albeit slightly tiring weekend. We had a lovely weekend with Debra and Colin when they returned from their road trip. Quick drive around Auckland - up One Tree Hill (currently no tree hill) and over the Harbour Bridge and on to a very warm welcome at Gil and Dorothy's. We entertained...

LizziesJourney2012: January 2015

Friday, January 30, 2015. 2015, quilting symposium and new knee. Well Christmas and January have raced past. Cant really catch up on blog entries but Iwill give a brief synopsis. Christmas with the Palmerston North family was a bit chaotic - three under five and lots of presents, wrapping paper, and hot days. but they are growing, we had some lovely moments with them. Cordelia knew just what to do with her imitation smart phone! All bathed and ready for bed! Some of our random "waves". Then my final day ...
