Bret, Leah, Willa and Adlai. Saturday, October 27, 2012. A visit from the fam. We had a fun visit from the Macaleers and Leonards at the end of the summer. We had tea, cooked out, picked berries, went to the park, hiked.you name it, we did it! Heading to Abby Tea Garden for tea. Stopping for a quick call. Waiting a little foolin around before tea. Cucumber sandwiches, scones, tea. yum! Checking out the goldfish. Checking out the view. Snuggling with Aunt Cori. Hiking a snow field with Grandmom and grandad.

Willa informed us a few weeks before her birthday that she would like to have a ladybug party and a ladybug party it was! Ladybug banners, ladybug plates, ladybug crowns, ladybug balloons, ladybug games, ladybug face painting, ladybug crafts and yes. real ladybugs for party favors! Decorating the living room with balloons and jars of ladybugs. Blowing out the candles.

Bret, Leah, Willa and Adlai. Sunday, August 5, 2012. Willa and Bret entered their first bike race together last weekend. I guess you'd call it more of a ride than a race but the had a blast! The Tour De Whatcom is a 25, 50 or 100 mile ride through the county. Bret thought the 25 miles would be plenty for Willa's first event. They got signed in and off they went. Trusting the Lord to lead the way. And just think, it was only 9 months ago that my dear husband came up with this gimmick as a way for us to blog regularly. Totally worked, right? We did have a fun October; we took a trip to N.C. and saw some friends, we did the obligatory pumpkin patch/corn maze visit, and of course there was Halloween. (which, by the way, we managed to snap a grand total of 4 pictures. we’re great chroniclers for our children’s posterity.). Wow, we have cute kids. But it was honest.
