I certainly enjoyed my summer as well learning more about weaving. It started with a wonderful Woven Shibori Workshop that Toronto Weaving School organziaed and it took place at Burr House (weavers and Spinners Guild) in Richmond Hill, given by Kathleen Morris http:/ www.kathleen-morris.com/. Amy looks closer: April 2013
http://amylookscloser.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 1, 2013. I did see one yesterday, pointed out by the park rangers, near the cypress swamp. It was so well hidden in the sluice that it looked more like a strip of truck tire. But the reason I love coming here because of the distances. I love how the paths here are not just trails, but turn into paint-strokes,. But if it's not, and you go this way or that, there's a future of possible stories, lined with very red sea grape and bugs and strange white marsh flowers,. Links to this post. Tyler ...

Amy looks closer: Wynwood
http://amylookscloser.blogspot.com/2014/06/wynwood.html
Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Is a neighborhood north of downtown Miami. There are galleries there, many of them, and shops, and restaurants, recording studios, production companies, and other kinds of think-tanks tucked in behind its walls and doors. But it's just as accurate to say that it's a life-sized sketchbook, and you can crawl along its pages. It's all a collage of the curated and of chance and opportunity, of stickers and spray paint and fallen leaves,. What a fascinating place, Amy! Southern Exposure...

Amy looks closer: November 2012
http://amylookscloser.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Walking in a place empty of people carries with it so much more than it should, don't you think? Do men feel this way? Or is it particular to women, filled with all these stories of kidnapping and peril, starting with Little Red Riding Hood? Our growing up is clogged with cautionary tales. Why else would a true-life story of a woman hiking the Pacific Crest Trail alone be so intriguing to us? I don't think I would ever want to give this up for safety in a locked house. My home...

Amy looks closer: July 2012
http://amylookscloser.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Just a quick shout-out to anyone watching tv tonight: my small town was voted Most Fun Small Town in America by Rand McNally, and the Travel Channel. Will tell us why, on Best of the Road. Tonight, at 8 pm. Though I'm a little leery of calling anything the best of anything, I can say in full confidence that my town has been exactly that for me, and I love it to pieces. A little illustrated compilation of why:. Links to this post. Monday, July 23, 2012. Walking down Artists' Alley.

Studio diary – art, craft, general ranting. August 8, 2016. August 8, 2016. Week 2 of Trying To Do Art Everyday In August (needs a catchier name, huh? But the trick is finding a way that works for me to get better with this stuff. Bullet journal tracking stuff. I have this frame of leaves that I’ve been poking away at for over a year, practicing satin stitch and having really no idea what to put in the middle. Yesterday’s drawing finally solves that problem. I’d been percolating...Enter your comment here.
