Journeys to the other side of the world. Across the Wicklow Mountains. We started the day with the full Irish Breakfast and a walk along the river [Donnybrook? Near our hostel, then packed the car and headed south out of Dublin. Next we passed two small cars, both with L plates, which had been tipped off the road – a warning to young cars! A stunning bare terrain with evidence of past peat digging. It used to go in large quantities, down the Grand canal, to provide fuel for Dublin. Deepdale Farm, Norfolk.

Monday, July 18, 2011. MacMurrough Farm Hostel, New Ross. We got to New Ross safe and sound with the help of a some lovely Waterford people and indeed half the way with two lads from New Ross. Rocks It's a pub on Wexford Street which is a sort of shabby-chic end of town, a funny mix of fancy grocery stores and discount stores and nice looking restaurants (which I can't afford) and greasy spoons. Saoirse turned me on to it.
