Confessions of a tortured fantasist. Monday, 9 November 2009. I was sick in the van. Yep, yet again the curse of Dudley drove me to sickness. Yet again I was ridiculously close to my house. Why is it that whenever we go there, someone (more often that not me) gets just that little bit tooooo drunk? Saturday, 27 August 2011. We now have abundance and easy access to tasty food in mammoth quantities. The result is that we have become a nation of gluttons, encouraged by the food industry and supermarkets. If people were suffering rationing now there would not be an obesity epidemic – so it is all down to availability and portions sizes. Smaller plates and bowls might help. What do you think – should people be allowed to get fatter and fatter? Is obesity a matter of our own personal responsibility?
