Rachel's Homespun Hideaway: Christma is Coming...
http://rachelshomespunhideaway.blogspot.com/2013/12/christma-is-coming.html
Monday, 2 December 2013. This weekend was the start of December which meant I have let Christmas creep into my home. Because I will not spend Christmas in my own home, I got my real Christmas tree early to get my money's worth! I decorated it with the help of some family, and I am enjoying the smell and cosiness it adds to my home :-). I am going to wait a little longer to put up some other deorations and just enjoy the tree for the time being. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Rachel's Homespun Hideaway: October 2013
http://rachelshomespunhideaway.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, 13 October 2013. I have spent this week in a small town named Velingrad, in Bulgaria. The week was part of an educational project, linking a range of school across Europe. It was a shock to me to find a country so poor and lacking in amenities close in proximity to Britain. It is humbling to return home and realise how lucky we are to live in a successful country where the children in our schools have a good time and are well resourced. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Wednesday, 20 July 2011. Time as been at a premium just lately and I was putting myself under a bit of pressure to make a couple of birthday presents. I fondly thought I'd have loads of time during my week off. ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Phone and wallet pockets. He liked the unfinished version - hope it still likes it. I added an interpretation of the Swedish flag (yes, she's Swedish! And some bits and pieces of crochet and a few buttons. And a little pocket inside for her phone. Links to this post.

Rachel's Homespun Hideaway: August 2013
http://rachelshomespunhideaway.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Monday, 19 August 2013. After returning from Tenerife, I was home for a few days before going away again! Although trips to Tenerife are lovely, I was desperate to see somewhere different this Summer, and so I booked a short, five day Scandinavian cruise. It's difficult to find a friend who can afford the money and time to be a travel companion in the summer holidays, so my Mum kindly joined me. I had never been on a cruise before and didn't really know what to expect! Saturday, 10 August 2013. Although ...

Rachel's Homespun Hideaway: A Catch Up
http://rachelshomespunhideaway.blogspot.com/2014/04/a-catch-up.html
Tuesday, 15 April 2014. It has been such a long time since I did a blog post that I thought it was time for a catch up! The last things I wrote about happened in January. I had a few days in the sunshine in Tenerife in February, it was lovely to see some blue skies and feel some warmth. My big brother also turned 30 in February. What's a better way to celebrate than with an M&S Colin the Caterpillar cake! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm Rachel, a primary school teacher living in North Yorkshire&#...

Rachel's Homespun Hideaway: Home Accessories
http://rachelshomespunhideaway.blogspot.com/2013/12/home-accessoriesat-littke.html
Saturday, 28 December 2013. The past month or so has seen me add a few really nice finishing touches to my home. Although I've been in my house a few years now, I am still loving adding bits and pieces that I pick up on my travels. I absolutely LOVE finding individual things that I know not many people will have. The first couple are things I picked up at the Country Living Christmas fair in Harrogate. I got this from Marna at Little A Designs. Anyone else bought nice home accessories recently? I'm Rache...

Rachel's Homespun Hideaway: Istanbul
http://rachelshomespunhideaway.blogspot.com/2014/08/istanbul.html
Monday, 18 August 2014. In May I was very lucky to visit the city of Istanbul on a school project. I didn't really know what to expect and so was pleasantly surprised to discover an amazing city, full of colour, beauty, spirit and people who were kind and warm-hearted. For anyone who loved textiles, pattern, colour and embellishment - Turkey is like an Aladdin's Cave. As this was a work visit I didn't have a great deal of spending money and was gutted I couldn't have purchased more. Love The Blue Bird.

Rachel's Homespun Hideaway: August 2014
http://rachelshomespunhideaway.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Monday, 18 August 2014. I've always liked writing letters and did so quite a lot when I was away at university. I love the feeling when something exciting comes through the post (that I haven't bought for myself! Since working, the opportunities for letter writing have become less although I do still communicate with a few friends in this way. I happened upon the blog of Nadia Van Der Mescht.
