Was born in Leningrad, USSR, now St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. She began pursuing art as a child, and as a young adult studied for five years at the prestigious Mukhina Academy of Art and Design in St. Petersburg, with noted art professors Koroven, Kozukov, and Pugen. She is also influenced by Russian classical painters, including Repin. She lives in St. Petersburg and Cambria, California. With her husband and two daughters. Nadja works principally in oil on canvas, and pastel and charcoal on paper.
