Presentation: Symposium 2 | MA Digital Arts
https://davidtatnell.wordpress.com/2011/05/10/presentation-audio-only
Camberwell College of Arts 2009-11. My project explores climate change and sustainability through time-lapse photography. I chose this theme as it is topical and continually in the media. My current practice explores moving image; I’ve worked as a stills photographer for a number of years and wanted to push the boundaries of my personal work and try to bridge the gap between stills photography and moving image, and found time-lapse photography as a good way of doing this. So, how do I make the work?

Kay Johns: April 2012
http://kayjohns.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, 26 April 2012. Display (inside the dome). I did ponder on the idea of making another dome inside and covering with the same material but leaving a cutaway to view the monitor, with the laptop and speakers hidden in the base. I know this would take up too much room but I do like the idea of a dome within a dome :-). So next I'm going to do some experiments with this. I may be gone sometime :-). Kay Johns: Final Show
http://kayjohns.blogspot.com/p/final-show.html
The Traveller is a hypothetical Artificial Intelligence Life-form, that wishes to conceptualize and explore the natural world, whilst questioning the existence of individuality within a system. The Traveller has chosen the form of a tent/dome structure for exploration. Its aspirations are to become more organic through its travels, by seeking assistance via your thoughts, as its visitor. Setting up the Installation. And experimented making the actual. Of the structure, along with more experimentation.

Kay Johns: Brighton Dome
http://kayjohns.blogspot.com/2012/09/brighton-dome.html
Tuesday, 25 September 2012. On the 16th September. Thanks to Pop-up Brighton. For organising the event, it was a fun night and so good to see all the other works there too. For this installation I used a projector inside the tent/dome structure instead of a monitor, which I had previously used for my MA show. While I preferred the monitor it was also good to use a projector, and I'm really pleased that I had the opportunity to experiment with this too. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Kay Johns: Breakdown from questionnaire results 1
http://kayjohns.blogspot.com/2012/08/breakdown-from-questionnaire-results.html
Sunday, 12 August 2012. Breakdown from questionnaire results 1. Following on from my previous post on Feedback from questionnaire. I have since composed some split pie charts to compare the results of how people considered themselves to be a individual and a concious being, to how people compared an AI to an individual and conscious being. I chose these questions to look at in more detail as these results initially sprung out at me which I found quite interesting. So basically the majority of people that...

Kay Johns: March 2012
http://kayjohns.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 20 March 2012. Sunday, 18 March 2012. Is to sprinkle talc onto the fabric beforehand to stop the fabric sticking. I've never actually sewn bubblewrap before so hopefully it will be similar only with added sound effects :-). While the actual making of the dome will take a while, once it has been made it will be very easy to set up and lightweight to transport. I took the photo below using an old tent cover on the ground just to give me an idea of the dimensions :-). Thursday, 15 March 2012. Next ...
