On the coast of the Mediterranean (! I wandered around with a camera. Because the place was amzing. Firstly, I present to you: breakfast! The buffet and Amanda:. The food was fantastic. There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be. The chronicle of my year in İstanbul (not constantinople). Saturday, February 28, 2009. Last day of the trip! Blase, Maeghan and I left the hotel early to go to the harbor and take better pictures of Brad Pitt's Horse. Aside from getting from decidedly wacky looks from the locals, I think one could call the excursion a success. And here I present Maeghan and Blase, performing a ninja-meets-pterodactyl fusion. Yeah, I don't know, either.

The sun was fun, the minibar was fun, the disco was fun, but after a couple days, the fact that there was nothing do actually do started to rub. Apparently the point of resorts is to do nothing? On the other hand, the food was both excellent and free. So there's that. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mid-April through early July. Host Mom, Host Dad.

There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be. The chronicle of my year in İstanbul (not constantinople). Wednesday, December 30, 2009. The rocks in Cappadocia are weird. Some tour guides say that Cappadocia looks like the surface of the moon, but frankly, if that's the surface of the moon, NASA kinda missed something. A lot of somethings. You remember the podrace scene in The Phantom Menace. Seriously. Star Wars. Dude, there are anti-gravity rocks! Maeghan, notably less hardcore. Having...

There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be. The chronicle of my year in İstanbul (not constantinople). Saturday, October 18, 2008. The Hole in the Floor. There’s a hole in the floor. I don’t know where it goes. Let me explain. The first story of this apartment complex (charmingly labeled “-1”on the elevator keypad) is a parking garage. Along with all the requisite dust and strange smells, it has, about ten meters from the stairs, a hole in the floor. I step very quietly when I walk by.
