Franny's Fables: April 2006
http://frannysfables.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
There is much work to be done before we can consider this a total waste of time. Wednesday, April 26, 2006. For my family, a trip to the local Walmart is like a scene out of an Indiana Jones movie - there's running, screaming, heroics, minor injury, cynical humour and the odd romantic moment. Fortunately, no one dies. Well, not yet anyways. So, me and Miss. Hissyfit made a quick escape to the little girls room, where she was able to yell in an enclosed space that echoed. My ears are still ringing. On TV ...

The Bluestocking @ Home. Fairy Tale Snow Day. February 25, 2015. So miracles do happen! And once in a blue moon East Texas gets SNOW! And here’s the thing … we didn’t just get snow … we got the most beautiful, breathtaking, magical, big fluffy snowflakes gently falling, fairy tale snow! We are giddy and just beside ourselves with excitement! I’m pretty sure that today East Texas could literally “break the internet” with our snow photographs … in the most beautiful way! Happy SNOW DAY, East Texas! Feels l...

Franny's Fables: March 2006
http://frannysfables.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
There is much work to be done before we can consider this a total waste of time. Monday, March 20, 2006. We are going away. Like, on a vacation. We just booked a flight, for the whole family, to fly out to the Maritimes for 2 weeks this summer. Have I just condemned my family to trauma by airplane? Or have I just taken a wild step into the world of travel adventures? Hmmmlet's go with the latter. As my friend Magda. Says, the pilot doesn't want to die either! So off we go! I think the ocean is drawing me...

Simple Pleasures | The Bluestocking @ Home
https://thebluestockingathome.wordpress.com/2015/06/13/simple-pleasures
The Bluestocking @ Home. June 13, 2015. Summer is upon us. For the most part, our months and months of torrential rains here in East Texas have subsided. School is out! Swimming lessons, art classes, and popsicles are in, and our pace is decidely more relaxed. All is not completely quiet; lots of exciting adventures and projects are brewing, but I am aiming to carve out quiet moments and striving to be intentional in allowing myself to enjoy simple pleasures. Is one of my favourite publications! But I wi...

One Foggy Morning | The Bluestocking @ Home
https://thebluestockingathome.wordpress.com/2015/03/19/one-foggy-morning
The Bluestocking @ Home. March 19, 2015. On mornings when I wake to a veil of thick mist sitting heavy on the landscape my heart skips and I feel that for a brief moment there is room to be still. Like a warm embrace, fog reminds us to slow down, to pause, to savour. But in those early morning moments, when you can hardly see but a few feet in front of you there is little choice but to move through the landscape with more care and heightened intention. Be still and know that I am God. Be still and know.

The Bluestocking @ Home. October 31, 2015. Happy Halloween : Part II : My Canadian Mountie. Texas may be my home now, but I grew up in Canada and love so much about Canadian culture. So when this handsome guy gave me the high five on being a Canadian Mountie this year for Halloween, I was so excited. My heart swells with pride to see him looking so handsome in uniform! And he had so much fun with it and loved getting into character. Hope everyone had a fun, safe and blessed Halloween! Lots of Love,.
